I've met the fragrant Concetta Fierravanti-Wells a few times mainly because she's best friends of a friend of mine.

Personally I think she's quite bonkers apart from being about as far to the right wing as possible.

Australia has spent decades patronizing and lording over South Pacific islands that surround it at the top end.

Even when they aided in East Timor when Indonesian backed rebels were killing en masse..they then turned around and with the Indonesia as partners, carved up the precious oil fields giving Timor a pittance.

Result : China is now poring $Billions into the Pacific Island nations, building infrastructure and basically creating bases out of them while claiming they aren't.

They own the Port of Darwin in Oz but Darwin also now hosts a US base with 20,000 troops (after the agreement was to place 2000 there)

#As always - the West completely ignores those of us who know the Chinese well (my father worked on finance with them for years)..they plan not years ahead..but generations ahead. They will make plans that will eventuate in 200 years, not 10 years for a profit.

he's "blathering" on about the rise (and rise) of China as a world power (it's a largish country in central Asia with about 1.4 billion citizens and an economy that will outstrip the entire West within 10 years) and which has confirmed they are an ally of Russia (7300 nuclear warheads) and how China is in it's inimitable manner and with superior diplomacy, expanding it's power.

Many in Western Intelligence agencies ( CIA, Directorate-General for External Security France, BND Germany, MI6) understand this and are concerned but note : the fundamental word here is "intelligence".
