Interesting video with one of the false claims that featured in the Jimmy Savile matter (and which have been accepted unquestioned).
The fact that cops claimed Tarbuck abused someone (in the 1960s !!) in the Top of The Pop's studio at Wood Green.
But it was being filmed in Manchester.
Similar to the Jim Davidson false accusations which he had to prove himself (against legal advice). Noticeably when Davidson proved he was in another theatre 100 miles away at the time, police told the claimant who simply changed the venue from the London Palladium to that small town theatre !
In how many other cases have the police simply believed false information from claimants and not even bothered checking ? (that's their job and something they would have done in the past)
There needs to be a Judicial Inquiry into how the police operated under the auspices of Keir Starmer and Alison Saunders who gave the green light to false accusers.
The insanity that has taken over in the UK and a few other places.
At least now they are talking openly of how this lunacy is keeping police away from tackling real crime.
The claims made against Tarby - verified by several women with almost identical complaints all using the same disreputable law firm - was that he assaulted them on Top Of The Pops at TVC - in 1963.
Top Of The Pops was launched in 1964 from Manchester - the south-based stars booked used to be flown there - and Jimmy Tarbuck never appeared on the bloody show in the first place!
I know rather more about this than most, having a very direct contact; all based on a photo taken when he opened a fete with a small boy sat on his lap (as you did in those days). Now a grown fat man with an eye on COMPO - claimed abuse. Ridiculous (Tarbie is almost offensively hetero, in that Northern beer drinker way).

Its hedda that doesn't "get it".
A labour supporter UNTIL someone (Tony Blair) comes along who gets them elected THREE times in a row,
then they want to distance themselves from him and pretend he belonged to some other different party .... lol !

Never mention the Iraq war to a Labour voter - Gordon Brown was a useless PM again Labour.
ITK - I'm intrigued did you ever make the classic journey from young, idealistic socialist firebrand to Tory squire? If so, what was your damascene moment? If not, do you ever have quiet moments of self doubt?
Nice Wyot, I look forward to ITK's historical explanation. Me; I always hated Labour (95p in the pound under Wilson) and felt encouraging the entrepreneurs would be a better idea. Other popsters simply went abroad for 9 months each year. I liked Maggie's 1980s encouragement of us entrepreneurs but disagreed with her social approach (which she discussed with me in detail and highly intelligently - wonderful woman - but I continued to disagree). I usually voted LibDEm and still think the Coalition was a high point in British government. Now I'd like a Corbyn/Clegg government (no hope of that but Corbyn/Cable might be OK).
Yes I'm similar in that being wedded to one party seems to abnegate thought...I also agree that Clegg was very important over the past decade -he was very underrated but I think history will treat him kindly - and a Clegg/labour ticket is about the best balance out there currently...Encourage enterprise but with humanity...The nuance is lost on most..
