Morgan Freeman threatens to sue 5 Years, 11 Months ago
# Fascinating really. And when it's explained you can see Freeman's words were taken right out of context.

This @MeTooMadness is having bizarre effects..some ladies are being shown to be actually bordering on stark raving mad.

Of course there are assaults and gropes and it's a tough business but there is ..madness in the air.

I reckon the whole thing is going to burn itself out..the militant (alleged) feminists haven't thought this through.
The hysterical fanaticism of too many phonies (and the eventual boredom of the media) will finish off the "movement".

Still, Rose McGowan has a Best Seller on her hands so that's alright and a Classic Hollywood Con has been brilliantly pulled off.

Morgan Freeman threatens to sue CNN and releases video he claims proves he didn't harass pregnant reporter and was instead responding to Michael Caine when he said 'I wish I was there'

I don't understand the logic here. Why would you wish yourself into an embarrassing situation?

"The actor's legal team then goes into the actor's explanation of what happened at the junket.

'It is correct that, during the interview, Mr. Freeman said, "I wish I was there." But Ms. Melas had no factual basis to have interpreted that as a statement about her, or as sexual harassment. The videotape makes clear that Mr. Freeman was in fact responding to a story that Michael Caine had just told,' state Freeman's attorneys.

'In that story, Mr. Caine had congratulated a woman on becoming pregnant, only to learn to Mr. Caine’s (and the woman’s) embarrassment that she was not pregnant. When Mr. Freeman said "I wish I was there," any reasonable viewer would have known that the "there" to which he was referring was the conversation in which Mr. Freeman’s friend, Mr. Caine, had embarrassed himself. That is exactly what Mr. Freeman intended.'

A video that was shot by CNN at the event and even aired during an interview with Melas on HLN does seem to support this claim, though there is no accounting for the other remarks Freeman allegedly made according to Melas."

'Morgan Freeman threatens to sue'

Or

'Morgan Freeman threatens Sue'

At the least the man has been extremely stupid, arrogant, and possibly very out of touch with the modern world of social media.

As for his innocence and guilt,I have no idea, but he is not helping his case by this kind of attitude.

Perhaps a job for Hedda? A PR repair launch?

No mystery at all. He meant he would have liked to have been there to see Caine make a fool of himself. It's a throwaway teasing remark to a friend.

Morgan Freeman is 80 so this will hardly ruin his life. He must be a multi-millionaire several times over seeing he has been in such demand for decades.

But it's a shame there should be an attempt to destroy his his career and legacy of work after so many years on what are unproved and probably, unprovable allegations.

Still, Errol Flynn became a legend even after rape allegations (the booze killed him though)so there's hope for some.
