I'm no expert but, from what I've read of them, voice synthesizers rely on someone inputting text, word by word, before a message can be relayed. If that is a case then someone like 'Lost Voice Guy' (who won BGT) was not actually giving a live performance. It would be no different from another comedian reading from a script. While other acts can forget or fluff their lines, there is not much chance of that happening with a pre-programmed voice synthesizer act.

I'm not sure that it is fair on the other acts in the contest.

A major part of any performance is the delivery. If an able bodied man went on stage and read the same script, would he have the same response from a live audience?

If the honest answer is 'Yes' then fair enough.
If the honest answer is 'No' ......

I thought it was a bit patronising, but maybe thats because I just didnt find him funny.
