who I like a lot, feels sympathy for the abused but how about some sympathy for the many more victims of the False Allegations Industry, including hundreds of priests and bishops. They deserve decency and care and love even more; they are innocent too but who mops their tears?
most of this happened in a different time when a different style of thinking was the norm (even 20 years ago).
We'll never know the reality of the accusations..many real. some imagined, some exaggerated and so on.
# I had one friend who openly boasted to me his accusations were false but as the priest had already been convicted and jailed he thought "why not ?"..was amply compensated although killed himself eventually over other matters.
For every one offender there are of course 1000s of priests and nuns who do excellent work and let's face it..aren't in for the money.
The Catholic Church will survive and go on. Or will it?
There is a hardcore of extreme right-wing cardinals who hate the current Pope. Has The Devil successfully immeshed himself/herself into the Church?
They have always said he'll be the last Pope! Imagine the firesale at The Vatican!
I am lapsed Catholic with the emphasis on lapsed but I do wonder about the timing of some recent media releases. This report from Philadelphia is released just a few weeks before the Pope's visit to Ireland (historically one of the most Catholic) countries.
