I'm sure this should not surprise anyone with any common sense. How could they not have realised that placing a rapist with male sexual organs in a women's prison would have this outcome.

I wouldn't actually call a kiss on the neck a sexual assault, though I am sure it was distressing.

Nobody should be in a position to rape or attack anybody else in prison, whatever bits and pieces they have.

Choices and decisions are taken away from prisoners, so common decency would suggest it is the responsibility of the state to keep prisoners safe?

When Dr Nicola Williams of Fair Play for Women first suggested last year that around 40 per cent of the transgender prisoners in the female prison estate were sex offenders, she was scorned and accused of transphobia. When the BBC uncovered official records that showed the real figure was actually higher than that, it tried to bury its own story. (Incidentally, at the time of writing, the BBC has so far managed only six sentences of reporting on the Karen White case.)

When Ann Ruzylo, a former prison officer, said she feared female inmates were being put at risk of attack by male-bodied offenders, she was subjected to a sustained online campaign of abuse and vilification that continues to this day.
Unbelievable. Wonder how many of these sex offenders decided to pretend they were women in order to prey on women.

I should think the motive is more likely to be to get into a more cushy prison? (I dont know if they really are)

I love the lines about "the defendant's approach to transitioning has been less than committed" and the description of the "woman" as "allegedly a transgender female" - I thought the current thinking was it was only necessary to self-identify.

But how can she be put into a male prison if she has identified as female? Who decides if someone is "feminine" enough?

Clearly the man needs sympathy, understanding, care and tenderness. Clearly society needs protecting from him until he is safe and happy. Clearly it is the duty of those in charge to try to cope with all this instead of being bound by political correctness or media adoration for a good story.
