TOPIC: Salisbury's brace of 'spies'
#180778

Salisbury's brace of 'spies' 5 Years, 7 Months ago
Rogue operators - says May. Civilian tourists says Putin.

One has a geography degree and is on Facebook. Both have been here before.

Putin has asked them to come clean on their Wiltshire travels - and the truth will out.

Just maybe - May has jumped the gun...

even alleged spies are entitled to the Presumption of Innocence.

That won't stop the right-wing media demanding Cyrbyn condemn them before trial.

Not sure if claiming to have a geography degree, being on Facebook or previously visiting the UK would discount someone from being a spy.

Tony Robinson:

"Brilliant! Looks like Jeremy’s managed to head off the anti- semitism debacle , at least until after conference.... Whoops! He’s moved on to advocating cooperation with the Russians on the novichok they poisoned our citizens with. Doooooh!!"

The two suspects going sight-seeing to Salisbury for under an hour and being put off by slush (Russians bothered by slush?)invisible on the CCTV cameras is also a bit funny.

Skripal suspects: 'We were just tourists in Salisbury'

True.

But I thought that spies act suripticiously and out of the limelight, mostly.

It seems these chaps just didn't care who saw them...

40 years ago - it was beneficial not to have an Irish accent

Later, it was helpful to have a appearance which didn't suggest the Middle East

Now, Russians are in the alleged spy first division

Maybe the Russian regime wants people to know it was them, e.g. to send a message to other perceived traitors that they can't escape the Russian state and show Britain to be a weak country where this can happen on its own soil and it can do nothing about it.
