Simon Cowell lifts the lid on his parting with Sir Philip Green and Little Mix
and talks about Mark Williams-Thomas

Simon was livid when we told him there are internet conspiracy theories about why he teamed up with controversial journalist Mark Williams-Thomas — who exposed Jimmy Savile as a paedophile — to work on a TV series.

He replied angrily: “What you just said about a conspiracy about why I hired him, well let’s be clear here — I have a four-year-old son. He is all I care about.

“Like I said, I make these decisions now not on me, but my little boy. I think the crazy stuff, you’ve got to ignore.

“I first met Mark in 2015 off the back of Jinx the show on Netflix. There was an article about Jill Dando in a newspaper and I called the editor over there who introduced me to this guy Mark who'd written it.

"He and I discussed these crime things becoming more popular and we were going to initially do a series about who murdered Jill Dando.

"And then he came to me later and he said he'd heard of this interesting story, so we took it to ITV.

"Then the second one he did was a similar case. We made two series with him and that’s been my only dealings with him.

That's an interesting quote. Sounds like Simon, as everyone else, is distancing himself from MWT.

Indeed. Simon Cowell isn't exactly falling over himself to endorse MWT.

MWT doesn't seem to have tweeted anything since 9 November. Six days is a long time for him to have been silent.

It does seem that Mark has a lot of ex 'friends, colleagues, associates' who have little positive to say about him.

That is quite sad to hear. I feel sorry for him now.

It's pretty unusual isn't it?

I can't think of anyone else in MWT's situation where so many have turned against him.

He played fast and loose with the Savile matter and went in head over heels over Cliff and others without giving a thought about Britain's media which can turn on sixpence.

I was thinking this the other day when I watched Nick Ferrari claim "if you hear it from us you know it's the truth" which got me pondering on our association in the 80s when he worked on the News of The World and thought.."careful there Nick, the past has an ability to rear it's ugly head at the most unexpected time".

Especially now as the printed and established media has become utterly ruthless against each other and all "gentleman's agreements" that existed for decades have gone out the window. Hacks now will gladly crucify another hack if there is an advantage to be gained.

The cudos of being part of SYCO has been snuffed well and truly for good his ambitions for 'the investigator' series has now sunk lower than Whale shit.
The Savile case will now be looked into without rise tinted glasses on his credibility shot.
The sharp suits, flash cars, giving the impression he has a motorcycle licence (why? He has not) the free watches and promotion of his mate Paco (why did Paco give him stuff? ) the 'holier than thou' attitude thoughts to everyone involved narcisstic tendencies it's the end but for he talks on Savile etc in village halls.
Sorry Mark you brought it all on yourself none of your supporters have backed you in twitter defence, Moore the rugby player, Jim Gamble, sabrina the teenage Witch who you follow all dumped you.
Sleep well

I'm tempted to feel sorry for him too, until I remember that his ministrations have undoubtedly helped people innocent of any crime go to jail.
