Matthew Hedges mixed feelings; always delighted when innocent people are released (is he innocent?) but worried when it is not a Judicial Decision but thanks to media publicity & easily influenced (by media) politicians. Would Jeremy Hunt have intervened if Hedges was not media friendly? In exact opposite situations (UAE spy arrested and convicted in UK) what would the UK Government do? I suspect, just as the UAE did - a "pardon" by the Queen. It reads like a bad Le Carre book (no such thing although the current TV series is making a brave attempt to ruin John's reputation).
