TOPIC: Train accident.
#183430
Train accident. 1 Week, 1 Day ago
A woman was killed when she leaned out of a train window and something hit her.
How awful.
Many years ago, I used to dry my hair on the way to work by doing this.

On the tube today the doors slammed shut beeped and re-opened. The driver then announced: "To the woman with the orange buggy who just rammed the doors with it -this is hardly an example of good parenting...Next time please wait just wait one more minute for the next train..."

We need more commentary like this in this increasingly mad world...

Are you in Liverpool, Wyot?
We have got a train driver who makes funny announcements and has the whole of the train in stitches.

These chaps (and chapesses) are ubiquitous around London - and can be annoying when going to work with a hangover, and/or in a crowded carriage.

One said recently on the Tannoy - 'a trolley service of drinks and light refurbishments will not be with you shortly'. Or on a longish route - 'this train has no toilets'.

However, they are very slow to make fun of the daily train delays which are now more commonplace than the days of British Rail - notwithstanding the high-tech rolling stock.

No I was in London Honey. When I lived in Hampshire a guard on one train line used to set a "pub quiz" question and walk the train collecting answers (no prize sadly!). I think it's nice....

Yes I enjoy it too, and I am quite glad it is more common than I thought, but I can see how Barney would find it annoying on a crowded and delayed train. I think you would have to pick your moment carefully.
