TOPIC: Prince Philip

Prince Philip 5 Years, 3 Months ago
One of my personal favourites rather like Anne (who seems to take after him more than all his other children). I like their attitude; very "me" people.

Difficult though to put your finger on exactly what he did!

Except walk a few steps behind his wife for many years, and smile.

Whilst frequently making idiotic schoolboy remarks, at the same time.

the accident sounds like it could have happened to anyone.

Now they're screaming because he's driving in his 90s as though the 100s of daily accidents every day caused by people of every age never happened.

If he was in a chauffeur driven car with his bodyguards the tabloids would be screaming that he's a scrounger.

Brits caved in decades ago and silently acquiesced to the dictates of a few media barons that they must & should hate their Royal Family for basically being human beings.

They re-write their own mental history and ignore the fact that Princess Diana was crucified by that media which escaped scot free from any liability while profiting from her death which they basically caused.

Meanwhile the European countries that still retain their Royals just get on with life instead of the hateful navel gazing infecting all aspects of British life.

Yes, the UK has a fixation about its Royal family.

And the media uses that for 'news' - currently, it's the Meghan/Kate feud!

But the man in the street wouldn't have known anything about the Charles/Diana animosity - if the media didn't tell us.

The Windsor firm used to well capable of keeping secrets - even and until Edward/Wallis, perhaps.

Charlie had nothing to do with it?

Married Diana - after 10 dates/meetings.

But the media is to blame.

Without them - happy ever after...

So Phil is out testing his new car today (Phil, nearly 100 - car, one day old), is very "me"

After almost demolishing three commoners a few hours ago

To be deliberately photographed - as if nothing happened - raises serious questions

Wait for the 'funny' remarks - Phil is Phil etc/it reminded me of, and all that.

National Treasure he is¡!

He's done so much

Walking three steps behind

Not a lot else

Like you and me.....

walking three steps behind and supporting HM through thick and thin..possibly why she has lasted so long in her role.

Lot of talk from people who couldn't have a clue whether Phillip is a good driver or not.

I'd suggest as he's got to that great age he must be every healthy..possibly more so than 10,000s of other drivers half his age.

Dickheads like Jeremy Clarkson pontificating as though he'd a frigging clue about Phillip's driving.

Others claiming he "nearly caused an accident"..of course people always tell the truth don't they? There are people out there that say the Royals are cannibals..

as I said previously..the meejuh whips up fury on absolute bullshit and that's what they are doing now.

I say good on him thumbing his nose at the reptiles in the media.

Out driving today - WOW: Sun right in my eyes; luckily I always carry my sunglasses (wore little else past two months). Then, later, a driver pulled out blinded by the sun and would have hit me were it not for my rapid reaction. Easily done.
