In addition to Brexit - the service, manufacturing and retail businesses have been hit by other changes.

With internet shopping, cashless transactions, obsolete bank branches/estate agents etc., computers doing more - and many people working from home.

Also - climate change, homelessness, extreme poverty, immigration and a growing reliance on the state - are becoming more of a problem.

None of this augers well for the foreseeable future - which, many are now predicting, will include social unrest of a violent nature.

Why is it the fault of Brexit and not Tesco selling crap food at sky high prices that people dont want to buy?

That's an easy one.

Brexit has adversely affected the strength of sterling - so many of Tesco's imported goods are costing considerably more.

Consumers must therefore pay more.

Depending on what happens in today's Brexit vote (as well as subsequent decisions and outcomes), cars, holidays and fuel - may also be significantly dearer.

Tesco, and their competitors, are really just pawns in the game.
