Yes it is certainly, in my opinion, an attempt at blackmail - as I've previously mentioned, I simply discarded the approach, as I did not want to be accused of interfering with witnesses, likewise I felt certain the false accusers WOULD still attend court and there would be no way I'd ever get the cash returned. We would have conducted cross examinations in a completely different way, had we been disclosed some material withheld from the defence (as seems to have been happening a lot, not just in 2018 but massively in 2001). We would have subpoenaed the person making the offer. We would have provided witnesses of their identity. We would have shown the jury all this evidence (only discovered in 2019). Without a shred of doubt the jury would have acquitted me. As several people have described it - DYNAMITE! Thanks to Surrey Police for having eventually (and without awareness of its importance) revealed other vital evidence, eighteen years later. Talk about a silver lining.

Concerning the above, some evidence was disclosed in 2018 about the 2001 case which had not been disclosed to the defence in 2001. By "some" I mean a lot, and very important stuff. If someone asked me today what I would guess the person concerned might be feeling today my answer would be "Oh shit; I thought I'd covered my tracks".

I would imagine that anybody using filthy tricks in 2001 would have a whole lot more ready, so please be very careful.
