TOPIC: Comic Relief

Comic Relief 5 Years, 1 Month ago
I never watch it; it's always dreadful television and I hate the process although the goal is fine and some moments are great (the Bodyguard bits were fun and I did manage to catch the Mamma Mia spoof and giggled). Terrific raising cash, generally, it seems, well used (as opposed to the Band Aid/Live Aid money which ended up in corrupt official's pockets). But thank God it's now over (there's always another coming up - Sports Aid, Sex Aid...).

I've gone off such huge charity events in a big way.

It's yet another way of governments everywhere avoiding responsibility.

It's an aspect of the ghastly Reagan thing : Compassionate Conservatism.
