Mark has decided already that it's a jumper with mental health problems and his thoughts are with loved ones.

An unfortunate line worker
Someone taking a short cut across the lines ( many of these are mistaken as suicide )
That if the person jumped they did it because they have nothing, no family no future nothing to do with mental health.
Maybe they have just been falsely accused or accused or convicted of something they did not do or more than likely none of the above.
Proves he jumps to conclusions and off the back of this he wants to show how empathetic he is, a real good guy.

Anyone who jumps on the tracks, for whatever reason, cant be thinking straight.

Yes H it more than likely was a jumper but it does not mean mental health issues how can you know ? There of course will be an inquest and suicide verdict may be returned but based on what ?
Presumption is not good for a detective or a intrepid reporter.

Digressing a little, I know - but under the picture of the book someone has commented that they are looking forward to reading it. Fair enough. However, the response is a little bizarre to my way of thinking: "Great - hope you will enjoy".

If I can hold of a secondhand copy I guess I'll really enjoy reading about someone's loved one being bludgeoned or stabbed ....
