I couldn't be less interested in some photographer changing gender, but why on earth would people have a four month gap between ceremony and reception?

Maybe the gap had to do with the ceremony being secret and the secrecy possibly extending for some time beyond it.

As for someone changing sex at 48, I find it baffling. There seems to be such a trend towards this just now. Is it because it's now medically possible and there have always been people in the population who would have wanted to do this, given the chance, or have their numbers increased for some reason? I watch Question Time regularly and have noticed that there is occasionally one person in the audience asking a question who seems to be a male-to-female trans person.

It is not possible to change sex, because you still have the same chromosomes, and I find it a bit peculiar that saying so is considered a hate crime.

I have mixed feelings about gender changing.
My opinion is that you are either female or male and you can be however you want to be, dress how you want, act how you want, and you dont have to be like the rest of your gender. You just "are".

To say that you must be the opposite sex because you prefer dresses, football, are nurturing, non-nurturing, or whatever, just reinforces the daft stereotyping for everyone else.

If people were allowed to just "be", they could do what they want without the painful and largely ineffective operations. (most trans people dont bother)
I fully support anyone who does it,though, and am happy to recognise the preferred gender of anyone. (as long as they dont call me a "cis woman". those can sod off!)

Oh, and back to the wedding...I think it said they had a secret ceremony but then had a big announcement and sent out invitations for the reception in four months time.

More and more weddings seem to be one big giant power trip and look at mememe festivals.
