Funny that when I employed Andrew, on a whim. Good worker he was, punctual, polite and reliable. He even cleaned under the grotty tables Which no ever did.

He spoke to me about music, hence coming on to this site being as I am a Genesis fan.

Andrew, didn't have a great work history I must admit but I have heard he has a good job in hospitality in Jersey. I do believe if I didn't hire him he still be in dire straits.

Makes much more sense now...and the NI connection fits perfectly.
He used to chat a lot with ITK about moving to the emerald isle, and how he got a job...yes it did surprise some of us his working..reading between some lines he had not been blessed with the best of upbringings...and was perhaps over reliant on his various partners, certainly he got very close to a lady in folkestone quite fast, and was initially her carer.

I'm sure he would have made a good worker...but would need the support of those around him to pull it off...glad for him things are going well...I always liked him...but think he may have fallen out somehow with this board...I'm only spasmodic here myself..so may have missed it.

He just wanted to get off the dole, despite given a place here it was sold and divided up between 4.

He did take on a carer's role for a lady friend but only temporarily in the past. He once told me over a pint about the Job Centre's etc, that's when I gave him a trail in the pub. I even spoke to the DWP over the phone just for good measure.

I got him cleaning and doing little odd jobs in which he didn't mind doing. He even walked the dogs for us, I gave him the same wage as my other staff.

I'm glad you did like SM, some people do need that extra encouragement. I suppose being reliant on others becomes part the benefit rut.

I have never claimed anything ever, but I heard the stories many times over. Some employers do need to take more risks in who they hire, people can surprise you.

He got chatty with an estate agent who I know pretty well and the two of them hit it off from the get go. He was looking for a new flat because the landlord was selling up, so he kept on her good side for months in case anything came up.

Their friendship blossomed more and more over time. She even thanked me for hiring him and said "it's a good thing you did because I think he's the one for me".

She was moving to Jersey for a better job and took him along to see if there could be anything work wise. I surprised her over the phone about a really nice place, they should go to for a drink. (I have an old drinking friend over there).

I'd gave him my good word about Andrew when they were en-route there. The landlord approached them with an application form.

Again he's only doing odd jobs etc in the new pub, but he's working at least, gets a very good wage. He now has a strong woman standing by with him.

I gave them my blessings when they left and we occasionally keep in touch.

Must be the luck of the Irish.

I'm sure a number of us on here will be very happy for Andrew....he was one of the people who gave this board balance, and he bought his unique life experience with him...

ITK was a regular poster called In The Know GM; these forums have been going for over 20 years and we've had many eccentric contributors over the decades; not least my good self.

I don't think ITK was "bullied" off this board?

He was / is our resident Tory so perhaps he's out on the Hustings working on who the new PM will be.

I reckon Jacob Rees Mogg would be his choice.

He may have gone into decline after he realised that I as a direct descendant from the Plantagenets was far more Royal than he as a claimed descendant of the rather minor and inferior, middle class House of York and especially as I knew the last Real King of England Michael Edward Abney-Hastings, 14th Earl of Loudoun who was an Australian sheep farmer..lovely chap..(his son took the title and still farms those sheep) but now with the revelation that I'm only 43 degrees removed from Henry V111 (long with only 20 million others) it's probably more than he can bear.

Tattoos? If they were really bright colours I might like them.

Didn't we discover that you and ITK might be distantly related? Or am I creating a false memory to suit my warped sense of humour?

I agree about the tattoos. Sludge green. You wouldn't buy sludge green clothing so why paint it on? It makes no sense.

Can't help but wonder if poor ITK is no longer around.

I dont think anything terrible has happened to him, because it was a specific incident that led him to stop posting.
I cant remember exactly what happened now.

Constant bullying...so I bullied the bully...he did set himself up for it though...he could come back, the bullying behaviour is no longer tolerated..but this board sadly is far too political...he would have to support his facts...sadly few on here do...

Good morning Honey

It is probably better to just ignore, SM. it is exhausting to be constantly arguing with someone who wont change their views.

ITK was a lovely softie really. I miss him.

The link doesn't work, SM, and you have got a very popular name. Perhaps we could set up a temporary twitter account for those of us who would like to be in contact privately?
