Am I right in thinking that maybe, regardless of the leaders and the (non) policies, if another political party is established and does well, it could benefit us all in the long run, because we will have more choice and the parties will have more competition?

Politicians only ever look after themselves long term...

We have a complex electoral system,in reality any new party scoring more than a few percent of the vote will often gain nothing themselves...but will radically alter how well the two former big parties can form a government.

Many uninformed remainers for example blame Cameron for calling the 2016 referendum... because of the rise of UKIP he had no choice...they were polling over 20% before he announced the referendum...they slipped afterwards, then disappeared.

Move on 2 years...and the new Brexit party,on just over 20% could be the next minority government on current polling...and that is from the Guardian newspaper...hardly my biased opinion.

You mess with democracy at your peril Honey...and my constant warning on here had been that to do so will open the way to extremes....I think that has dawned on a few on here recently..and I'm not popular for mentioning it..

Fast forward to the past...wasn't this board more fun before it got taken over by political threads?

A good evening, and thanks for your usual quality a d polite contributions.

There's something of the Uriah Heep about your posts these days, SM.

I do understand what he means, though, Mr King. We seem to be a bit short on lightheartedness, and I am so sick of brexit I could scream.

Just like the Brexit Party will

Polls have shown their serious error capacity

Farage is irrelevant - as 5 failed efforts to become an MP have shown

His lifestyle/office/accommodation etc. point directly to funders - with an agenda

Transparency isn't his forte...either...

Uriah Heep frightened me when I was a child.
I think it was because of his insincerity.
Even now, masks, heavy make-up, and especially clowns, give me the creeps because the face doesn't match the actions.

This is why I dont mind Trump. At least you know where you are with him.

You were right to be frightened by Heep, Honey; Charles Dickens was so brilliant, spotting the truth behind all the masks.

Totally irrelevant fact...a good friend of mine owns Bleak House...I believe she tried to sell it recently...Broadstairs has a small claim to adding to the Dickensian legacy.

Well - the polls, Guardian, Ladbrokes got it badly wrong!

And you SM. Parties with no policies or manifesto are hard to elect.

This Party was just a flag in the pan - but succeeded in conning many.

Into thinking it had a future...

Politics is like the FA Cup - anything can happen.

Polls said there be no 'Leave' vote and No Trump.
