if our sexual preferences are formed from our experiences, shouldn't it be possible to alter them, in time by providing other experiences?
Amazing thought
Totally bizarre
Surprisingly silly too
Nature and genes may be relevant

Why is anyone worried or discussing sexual preferences? I'm straight but why haven't I heard about "straight conversion therapy"? No, just the gay "cure". The narative presupposes a problem.
If boys and girls want to kiss and love other boys and girls cos it feels natural, cool. The only "problem" is with those pursuing the narrative.
Maybe I can appreciate sex with 50% of the population that due to my biological prison I can't currently appreciate: if so bring on my conversion, and I will embrace a snog that leads to "stubble rash.."
Yes, we have missed a trick, Wyot. We could have converted and doubled our chances of copping off!
I do know one person who has "changed" . Or more accurately, pushed himself along the sliding scale a bit further, which is what has sparked my interest, having only previously been aware of the forced aversion torture, which I hope is mostly in the past now.
His reason for it was because he says he has a mismatch and much preferred sex with one gender but felt he could only fall in love with the other.
He has been happily civil partnered for a long time now, though, so something must have worked for him.

Well put.
This seems to be the 2012 article Ann Widdecombe wrote endorsing gay conversion therapy.
Helping those who aren’t glad to be gay, says ANN WIDDECOMBE
