TOPIC: Robert Kennedy

Robert Kennedy 3 Weeks, 1 Day ago
Fifty one year ago today, this New York senator - and presidential candidate - was assassinated in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

Shot from close range - the conspiracy theories still abound, as to who was really behind the killing.

The smart money is on the Mafia and the CIA.

Undoubtedly the latter had a surprisingly large number of operatives in the hotel, that night. And from his Attorney General days, Kennedy was despised by the Mafia.

the Oz journalist John Pilger was there on the night.

I recently read a very compelling book that puts the blame on Carlos Marcello the new Orleans Mafia boss.
Not only did he admit it to an FBI informant when in jail he had a dozen reasons to do it.

Cui bono?. That's the obvious question. And in both cases, RFK & JFK the Mafia benefited and had the means.

Remember shortly after the probably compromised FBI boss J.Edgar Hoover declared there was no such thing as "organized crime" and the Mafia and they reigned supreme until the 1990s.

Also just reading another excellent book on the Mafia's links to the CIA and their involvement with attempts to assassinate Fidel Castro.

All in the 1960s. Usually the most obvious suspects and plots are the real thing.
# I can remember being at school and hearing JFK had been assassinated..and bursting into tears. Odd.

Conspiracy theories....true or not I have no clue...and will be hard to prove this far on...

...but it does remind me of former boarders...BR would have blamed it on aliens...while ITK would have blamed it on the poor...and shot a few for good measure....

Until the 1990s? No - La Cosa Nostra still exists with around 5,000 'made men' and 30,000 'associates' in the US.

The 5 NY families continues to thrive - with a much lower profile; they shun publicity; unlike John Gotti.

In Chicago, Florida and Los Vegas - the Mob is particularly active. As well as in Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston etc.

Carlos Marcello was in court on the day of JFK's murder .

To be honest, I wouldn't put it past some kind of mind control behind Bobby Kennedy's murder.

Same with Versace and John Lennon.

Only in America!
