JK a question.
I take it you are on the offender register and that was a life registration due to the fact you're sentence was over 30 months.
Is it not true that after 15 years from date of conviction that you can apply to be removed from the SOR ?
I hear this can only be sanctioned by the local Chief Constable in your area.
I just wondered if you are, have will be applying for removal ?
I have spoken to a number of people regarding and there is some confusion as to when the clock starts ticking, is it.
Upon conviction
Upon release from prison
After probation period ends.
It would be good to have some clarity as I know of two people one it was automatic 10 years and was from date of conviction and the other had a life licence they state it was after his 12 served.
Thank you in advance for help from any quarter. It seems PPU like to change the goal posts to suit.
It is 15 years from release from prison (one of the many lies Surrey Police used in order to get a search warrant in 2015 was saying it was 15 years from arrest - which all police know is incorrect).
No; absolutely not; from the exact date of release. Since the 2015 Search Warrant made a lot out of the fact that it was desperately needed as I was due to come off the SOR in September (if I requested it); a total lie; this was something I examined in detail.
I was told from sentence date but as JK points out its end of sentence. Makes sense as someone getting 12 years would only be monitored for 3 years before applying to be removed.
I have no knowledge of anyone requesting release from the SOR at the 15 year point it would be good to know if anyone has successfully come off it at 15 years.
If you got 29 months sentence you automatically come off at ten year point I cannot see why someone with 30 months should should not be automatically able to request removal after ten years if they have been no problem over the ten.
Not end of sentence; important to be absolutely accurate; it is date of release (remember; I got first parole). The day you come out of prison; 15 years later an application can be heard to take you off the SOR.
You apply and if the local police approve you're taken off it. The police section that has looked after you for 15 years submits their report on your behaviour.

Ah yes date of release. I forgot that the sentence continues after release. Thank you for the clarification.
I think most police forces would like to get rid of as many as they safely can off monitoring.
