Alcohol 4 Years, 10 Months ago
For years I've loved Kopparberg alcohol free pear cider but it's very hard to find.

Speaking as a recovering alcoholic, I'm not sure if I see the point of this product. Why not just drink apple juice?

Because I prefer pear to apple but mainly because the alcohol free version is drier and nowhere near as sweet as the normal juices from the fruits.

I think the choice of low or no alcohol in pubs is pretty rubbish.
They tend to be quite sickly if you are having a few, and bar staff usually have no idea of the alcohol content of the beers, unfortunately.

They look at me as if I am crazy when I ask, and assume I want the strongest, not the weakest.

I am also irritated by cafes that stock twenty kinds of herbal tea but no soya milk, and when they do, its usually the sweetened kind that forces you to take sugar in your tea. (I carry a tiny bottle of it in my bag and then forget about it and it goes mouldy)
I also carry decent tea bags. Its probably a sign of getting older, but I'm embracing it.

Pub landlords only stock what sells the most, sadly there is not a huge call for alcohol free beer, cider and wine. My partner is not a big drinker, but likes a Carling shandy in the pub. She buys alcohol free beer and ale in bulk also.

Some pubs do alcohol free gin but that's expensive.

My local in the UK stocks the following alcohol free (or 0.5%) drinks.

Old Golden Hen

Becks Blue

Heineken 0.0

Kopparberg - mixed berries

Erdinger

Brewdog - nanny state

The logic is to attract the custom of those driving.

Yes the berry stuff is horrid; the pear cider miles better.

I am no longer in the trade but still have contacts. Becks Blue and Heineken are still popular with clubbers. Alcohol free St Peter's is okay but has an acquired taste but I do recommend Ship Yard.

I recommend Adnams Alcohol-free Ghost Ship. I find I can drink several pints of that quite happily!

I second that. If you like hoppy ales, it is probably the best alcohol free beer. That and Brewdog Nanny State
