I think the crappy useless leaflet they sent out before the referendum said they would abide by the decision.
well that actually shows how bad the voting form was. It should have said on it that a majority decision would be enacted into law.
I mean voting papers are
legal documents and very serious ones at that. Really they are a contract and badly worded contracts cause more grief and end up in court being disputed than long complex detailed ones.
I'm not even sure why they made it an
advisory referendum.
It seems perfectly sensible to me to have had that referendum and perhaps then have a
compulsory referendum 3 years later..now..when all the pros and cons are really being discussed.
Add as some obvious illegality has now been exposed and the fact that a situation was set up where perhaps millions were voting for misconceived emotional reasons, possibly 1000s of complex but completely erroneous misleading reasons that won't happen one way or the other..the infamous "
getting back sovereignty" is one used often after the result came in but hardly ever mentioned now and as the popular talk back radio host keeps questioning Brexiters which laws they think the EU impose upon them and they can never quote one.
And Cameron's statement that he would act upon the result is meaningless seeing he scarpered but of course PMs always make exaggerated or plainly false claims all the time..and not much happens.
When a PM says
"I'll fix the economy and make the trains run on time" and not much changes it has as much meaning as Cameron's words.
This seems very similar to
Malcolm Turnbull's voting "survey" on "same sex marriage" which caused much angst in Australia but as the turnout was approx 80% with a 60% positive vote he was emboldened to enact legislation legalising gay marriage but the hard right wing still got him in the end anyway (with
Rupert Murdoch leading the charge).
I still say
Rupert Murdoch's sticky fingers are all over Brexit and David Cameron caved into him like so many do.
## before
Tony Blair won his first election he attended a conference in Queensland where ex-Oz PM
Paul Keating warned him not to get into bed with Rupert as he always dispenses with you once he's got what he wants.
Now they say his successor Lachlan is worse that his father and extremely "conservative" (Rupert isn't really..he was a Socialist in his younger days ..just switches sides for financial reasons).
### Rumours keep abounding that Rupert's recent fall on a boat where he hit his head was far more serious than said and Lachlan is now basically in charge.
#### He's certainly running
Fox News now and those who were booted were on his orders and the recent claim by one Fox host to
Donald Trump.."we don;t work for you" I reckon is an obvious public message to Donald that it's actually the Murdochs who runt he show..the
Teflon Don just being a figure head
Good era to be very old but look very young.
