Randall's Reading Recommendation 3 4 Years, 7 Months ago
My very good friend has put another article on his site, which might be of interest.

It reminded me of a couple of recent threads where fake vigilantes were caught with large collections of illegal imagery, yet sentenced quite lightly.

Another point that struck me was that our host had a similar experience, being sentenced grossly in excess of the guidelines. If I remember correctly from Vile Pervert: The Musical, it was 7 years rather than the 3 year guideline penalty. And yet another similarity at appeal, where JK was told his sentence was perfectly normal and correct when it obviously wasn't.

Anyway, here it is. Read, like, comment, share, print out and frame...

Your friend's story is very interesting, Randall. I'm tempted to say shocking but I've heard enough similar stories not to be shocked.

Thanks for reading, Misa.

Your post reminded me of correspondence with him years ago. He was wracking his brains to think why on Earth he'd found himself on the receiving end of all that. Like some kind of conspiracy from a John Grisham legal thriller - or even The X Files!

But as we now know, these kinds of cases have been churned out on an industrial scale since... Since JK's first trial? Or could we date it back to the Cleveland abuse scandal?

I guess Cleveland marks the start of things in the UK, Randall. Though I'm conscious that there are others here who know rather more of the history than I do.

Around 1989, one of my former teachers was locked up. Of course, I had no idea then that he might not be guilty. In light of what I've read in recent years, I would love to hear his side of the story now.

JK's case, though, seems to be connected to some of the grubby little people who have managed to perpetuate this insanity.
