"conservative" columnist Gerard Henderson again goes in to bat for George Pell in a non-partisan manner as opposed to so many left leaning commentators.

This time about a Sydney University professor Tim Soutphommasane who like so many, demands silence about the verdict,

Soutphommasane claims those who support Pell are the "powerful" but as Henderson points out the opposite..if they so powerful how come Pell was convicted in the first place..in a legal first that should frighten every single Australian (but won't because 90% of the dills are convinced they can never be accused of anything, falsely or otherwise)... a man has been convicted for a serious crime on accusation alone without a single piece of evidence showing guilt but much real evidence showing that it could not have happened.

The Witch Hunt against Pell has been going on as long as I've been in Australia..as the whipping boy for the Catholic Church he has been an endless target of vitriol and a real victim of a corrupt Victorian Police plot where they set up an investigation into Pell a year before any complaint was made about him..leaked to the media they were investigating with the inevitable result..a "victim" came forward a year later (as an aside..compensation paid out by the Church in cases like this is likely to be around $300,000 )

The High Court can be a perilous move (not that Pell has anything left to lose)..they refused to hear an appeal in the "Dingo Took My Baby" case with Lindy Chamberlain (met her a few years ago..such a warm and lovely person who unfortunately at the time..came across in the media as stiff and cold).

Two years after they refused to hear an appeal, Chamberlain was declared innocent when real evidence was discovered thta proved her story as told was true (I think she got compo of about $6M)

One of the media's concerted attacks was the tabloid show "60 Mins" who interviewed "abuse survivor" Peter Saudners who declared George Pell is a psychopath" (had never met him) which went around the country (and Italy) like a Tasmanian Bushfire..and was repeated ad infinitum for weeks.
Saunders hid the fact he had been accused of rape by 2 women. Not a single mention in the Oz media about this revelation.

..as was the vile "comedian" Tim Minchin's nasty little song attacking Pell ( he was sick) for not coming back from Rome for an inquiry (which he fronted by TV hook-up as most other witnesses did( but ignored the fact when told he was to be arrested and charged for abuse..Pell immediately returned to his fate.

## you cannot even discuss this with other journalists..they dismiss each incident like the above and simply refuse to accept how the public can be persuaded to believe something even though they are in the business of doing that very thing.
Several that I know of are active in the "Free Julian Assange" campaign ignore me when I say he has been accused of rape numerous times in the media (the "evidence " in that case is extremely dodgy)...they pick and choose who is guilty.
Assange is a "hero" so must be innocent of all while Pell is an old conservative right wing Catholic so must be guilty.?
