TOPIC: Boris & Jeremy
#194284
Boris & Jeremy 4 Years, 4 Months ago
It strikes me that these two very clearly symbolised two different approaches to life and government. One seems to reflect looking after our interests first; the other appears to want to look after the interests of others before ourselves. Example - Brexit. You don't hear many Brexiteers answering the question "But will leaving the EU benefit the EU?". Likewise "But will allowing people to enter the UK benefit those people?". It's all very MeMeMe. I made a film about that once - check out MeMeMeMovie.com

Yes you're quite right.

Corbyn would have looked out for the terrorists, immigrants and work shy. Boris for our own people, victims of crime and hardworking people.

Boris and Jeremy are perfect examples of the unfettered Power of The Media to dictate and run the show.

One man- a thoroughly decent MP ho has cared for people all his life, has gone into bat for minority groups- most especially the Jewish community time and time again..so many times in his long career he stood up in Parliament and denounced antisemitism.
The life long fighter against racism was painted as a racist !!

The other- a proven racist and bully and potential thug who tried to aid in the beating up of a journalist, who has lied repeatedly which has been exposed so many times, who was fired several times for his lies..who wrote a book riddled with ghastly racism and especially with vile antisemitic tropes.. a complete disaster as Mayor of London with vanity projects that wasted £100Ms. A man who Tory veterans like John Major said was not fit to be PM.

And thus an election was run on personality and not policy. Boris had none.

The Josef Goebeels style propaganda is complete but this time the media were in lock step with Steve Bannon's Russian funded Brain's Unit just as he manipulated the US election and is now targeting Europe to drag it to the far right.

However Boris now has his majority and it's all on his head. Who knows..perhaps Brexit will be a stunning success..but why would it?. The UK must now implement 1000s of legislation to mirror the EU if it wants to trade when it already had that it place.

The sheer lunacy of people thinking The World is Our Oyster with trade deals..they take years to complete but the UK must now go backwards 50 years and try and negotiate with the rest of the world which has steamed on without them for 60 years because of the EU.

Australia for example: severely damaged by Britain's entrance into the Common Market had to seek new trading partners..it took 30/40 years to entrench itself within Asia, China and Japan successfully. Ditto most of the world.

Britain is now at the mercy of the USA and Good Luck with that. Ironically it will find the EU will be reasonable when dealing with it but it will take years.

Perhaps it will all work out well...as a lady interviewed in the street in Plymouth said to the cameras.." It's awful seeing people sleeping in the streets and having to use Food Banks but I like Boris so I voted for him" Uhhh? ..in fact Boris successful sold himself as a saviour and avoided the fact the Tories have been in power for 9 years. (mind you I think she wasn't being sympathetic to the homeless..more indicating they were an annoyance)

The real problem with Brexit..no matter which side you are for..it has possibly ripped the country apart..no-one can be satisfied whatever happens.
If an honest and fair Referendum had been run it wouldn't have caused so much hatred.

If it all falls over they'll still blame the jam maker.
