we're all going to die ! 4 Years, 3 Months ago
Bondi Beach today.. chockablock with desperate tourists wandering and adrift with not much to do except booze and pack the biggest McDonalds I've seen.

A damp squib of a New Year's Eve fireworks ( I've been to 4 at the Sydney Opera House and they were the most sensational thing I've seen) as masses of German tourists etc crammed the foreshore..sometimes 12 hours before it starts.

I could see them from a friend's flat right at the top of Bondi..the awful smoky sky sort of enveloped the spectacle.

The slow realisation that Climate Change is a real thing no matter how much deniers keep claiming "we've always had these fires" Oh no we haven't - not like this.

As my NASA Scientist Astronomer pal who lives in North Queensland said as he phoned today for NYE.."it's far worse than we are being told..despite scientists (he knows them all) saying it's dire in a way they are underplaying it"

What few people realise he explains is that it's not that there have always been these terrible fires ( 1000 acres burnt in California in their last catastrophe..100,000 acres so far in Oz) is the fact the entire thing cannot be controlled at a certain point.

And the thing I've never seen before although it's not new..is the mini whirlwind tornado fireballs that are now happening which have destroyed small towns..these he says are so lethal and risk building into full on Tornadoes but full of fire that ...as sadly happened just yesterday..totally consumed a firefighter when he was 50 yards from the fire..he completely evaporated !!

My pal was part of the team that discovered Ice On Mars so I take him
seriously.

And the other big problem..the Ozone Layer Hole above Australia is rapidly expanding which doesn't help with the fires..but it may reach a point where it spreads beyond anyone's control

He actually says the fictional events in The Day After Tomorrow are not an exaggeration!!... and it's why according to his Russian scientific contacts..for years they have been uncovering in Siberia (but releasing few details) Mammoths, Siberian Tigers, male & female bodies..even some animals we did know existed..that are 10,000s of years old perfectly preserved that were instantly snap frozen after some calamity.

Happy New Year !!

I'm finding this very disturbing; not just for you Hedda but for civilisation. The world is changing - we are all in trouble.
