Ten things more germ-laden than the average household toilet:

* Phone receiver
* Desktop
* Computer keyboard/mouse
* Doorknob
* Escalator handrail
* Elevator button
* ATM buttons
* Shopping cart handle
* Kitchen sink
* Subway turnstile

Snopes (USA)

Aww gawd, yeah ATM buttons!

Disgusting things!

But are we more healthier now we use personal mobile phones as opposed to a filthy call box or has it made our tolerance to germs lower as a result of this?

I had a girlfriend once (pretty and famous) who refused to handle cash for fear of germs, but I believe we need to expose ourselves to things, to build up immunity systems.

(When I give up smoking , I promise to destroy my oxygen filled sleeping tent as well!)

'Dettol Man' died of cleaning obsession

"A MAN died after becoming obsessed with cleaning his home and himself with Dettol.

Recluse Jacques Niemand, 42, used vast amounts of the disinfectant for keeping his home clean and washing himself, an inquest heard.

The inquest in Manchester was told that Jacques' over-exposure to the cleaning agent resulted in a fatal lack of oxygen getting into his system."

Oh dear !

We use Domestos to clean the toilet (not that there are any germs here, you understand !) and then Dettol to take away the Domestos smell !
