Gamble Gambles... 16 Years, 10 Months ago
...on commonsense prevailing. Jim Gamble , Chief of the police's Child Protection Unit says that those who view child porn on the web, should in most cases be spared jail. I tend to agree, in so far that many who pay for such vile imagery, wont go on to assault or harm children, and in fact don't. Our jails are full to the rafters, and we need more space for the thugs and the yobs who are more of a risk to our way of life.

Of course it can be argued that those who do subscribe to child porn are directly harming children by funding those who churn the muck out, but my rational side understands that jailing them is pointless. Greater punishment would come through restricting their activities through stopping their usage of credit facilities, preventing them from using a computer etc'.

Of course this will have your average Sun reader up in arms, whom now associate irresponsible parenting with pretty winged insects and all things sugary and sweet (not wanting to further add to the McCann's woe), but irresponsible parenting leads to anti social behaviour, thuggery and our streets besieged by morons whose idea of a good time is to thump people.

Last week my mother , who is 70, was spat at in the face by a thoroughly unpleasant individual who felt she had forced him out of a parking space. Now that frightens me more than anything. And angry.

I'm not backing child porn. I just observe commonsense when I see it.

I've always found the argument about this rather strange, knowing how well Photoshop and others can create genuine looking pictures.
It's beyond me why anyone would want to look at such pictures but I don't go along with the "it is creating a market" argument - otherwise please lock up all alcohol and nicotine manufacturers.

And Fleet Street sources tell me the Gamble remark might just be because there's about to be a huge scandal around Operation Ore.

Have changed the thread title Chrissy though I rather prefer the original... it brings visions of little innocent lambs frolicking towards slaughter, which is rather apt.

LOL. Thanks Jonathan. I just didn't want people to think I was illiterate.
