I will admit I did clap for the NHS for first week. I looked at my partner and said "this is ridiculous" I still carried on because it was a nice gesture at the same time.

Some of her neighbours were in competition with eachother with fireworks and sound systems; virtue signalling came to mind.

Over the weeks people have gradually stopped clapping and banging pots and pans.

Last night only 5 residents were just clapping. No fireworks, no sound systems, no pots and pans and no cheering. The 5 residents didn't even clap for the whole minute.

I pretty sure you can say it's done in some areas.

Maybe the 99% or more of the population who are at no risk and have had their personal liberty removed for no reason that can be evidenced, might be getting pissed off...?

In a way it's quite funny. I live in a fairly 'right on' street, loads of 'We say NO to Brexit!' 'Women Against War!' 'Save Our NHS!' posters and stickers in the windows...But come Thursday, there's now only me, and two people across the road, who are there. We wave to each other, clap a bit and then go back in. I could take it better if I didn't know that, when it's safe-ish again, they'll be back claiming they knew what should've been done long before even the scientists. They must be inside, gazing into crystal balls.

Here's another thing: what is it with foreign speaking residents that makes them think they're not only not understood but also inaudible??? One couple two doors away from me - they meet twice a week, she stands two metres away and they have a chat.

Nice. Lovely.

Except they shout at each other. Really SHOUT. For an hour. Really, really, loudly. In Spanish, I think. I have to give up working for that hour because it's impossible to concentrate. It's very weird. Surely they must know the entire street can hear them?? From two metres? Why can't they just, you know, talk?

The "right on" are hypocrites and love to sneer to those with different views. I don't get why people why people shout unless you're drunk !

At the moment I can't get any employment or access to benefits which is shit. The lockdown has done more damage than good.

If furloughed was lifted then people will have to be to pretend to be workshy. My sister was tested for covid 19 ended up just having a very bad cold.

Cornophobic sounds like an excuse to avoid work and life in general.

They have full on parties round the corner from me. One street was playing bingo with everyone sitting in rows in the road, and a proper disco to follow.

If they are doing that they might as well organize wife swapping. At least it will build up the immune system.

Where my partner lives no-one sticks to the rules in the high street and supermarkets. Social distancing is long gone.

On Al Jazeera they said you don't die from covid but die with it. My sister works in a care home; she had covid but recovered over 5 weeks.

Her symptoms were flu like but now back at work. There are in average a death every month or 2 in a care home. Flu kills like the common cold does. When you get older and are elderly your immune system weakens.
