It makes a good line for the woke comedians on HIGNFY, but he didn't say that he thought he was blind, this is a gross exageration. like Yaz said it had previously affected his vision, (it can cause a mild conjunctivitus), and he wanted to reassure her that he was ok to drive by taking a shorter drive. Granted he didn't need to go to a tourist attaction, but still he went there didn't get close to anyone, didn't go inside the castle. He then drove back the next day and didn't stop at a petrol station (This guy has a massive petrol tank in his car, if it can do 380 miles without having to refill). If it was a breach, then it was a minor breach not posing very much risk to anyone. It is up to the pm to sack him or not and the public will make their point at the ballot box.

Now, this is really very interesting. I hear people repeat this claim all the time, but they either misheard or wilfully misrepresented what he said.

He said HE was ready to drive back to London. He said that his WIFE felt his eyesight had been affected, he said his WIFE was concerned about him driving for five hours because of this, and so he drove out to show HER he was competent for the longer journey.

You can't actually score the points you want to do if you accept that version, so you go with the conveniently misheard version. Maybe you need to break lockdown and go out somewhere noisy to check your hearing is okay.

Paul Joseph Watson makes a point about the media avoiding social distancing to get at Cummings.

A lot can't or won't drive. I'm sure if his missus could she would of done.

Apparently she can!

Changed your tack again! Keep going!

I really dont see how I have changed my "tack" at all, but what would be the problem if I did?

What he actually said, was.....

"My wife was very worried, particularly given my eyesight seemed to have been affected by the disease. She didn't want to risk a nearly 300-mile drive with our child, given how ill I had been. We agreed that we should go for a short drive to see if I could drive safely."

I find it completely ridiculous. (and suspect it never happened)
IF there is the slightest doubt about your driving, you dont get in the car. You most certainly dont put your family in it!!!
He had no need to invent or relay a reason for going there. We have always been allowed out for exercise. A short trip for the child to play is reasonable, yet his "explanation" was a breach, even if very minor.

I rather liked him. I dont know what idiot thought it was a good idea for him to be interrogated by the press though.
