TOPIC: Day 70

Day 70 2 Months, 1 Week ago
In the days when black people were not just kneed to death but strung up on the nearest tree, gays were likewise killed.

I gather things were so awful in the bad old days, that they used to tell boys they would go blind if they had sex with themselves.

But seriously tho, there is definitely a racist element in a lot of these tragedies; a attitude that doesn't exist the other way around.

I agree: gay men certainly do attract interest and friendships from tons of straight (and often very attractive) women. But if a straight fella were to act in that way, you'd know for certain that getting one's leg over would definitely NOT be on the cards! As soon as you transitioned from having a gay to a straight persona the cat would be out of the bag ...

See jk you were ahead of the times with your music and lyrics and the subject matter..

It's the same in other countries too, some (not all) cops are happy to be thugs and use excessive violence when there's no camera phones in view.

What you went through with the Surrey police is a total disgrace, grossly unfair, brutal and based on a pack of lies.
It was like they had a vendetta to bring you down.
Smashing down your door and forcing entry into your home causing lots of expensive damage and trauma.. and I bet they never compensated you for all this damage either..

Especially in a country like Britain that once prided itself as being a civilised nation.
The way the prosecutions opening statements remain online forever is wrong too.. particularly when all the charges were dropped.

Here's are a couple of links on another brutal home invasion story and attack by the police, some would categorise it as authorised thuggery.

www.abc.net.au/news/2019-05-12/melbourne...itzroy-raid/11105106

Once again the overseeing watchdog just gives out vacuous motherhood statements but the reality is totally different.

Music to smile to...
Love your track jk, you surprise me all the time with these little gems you keep pulling out of your hat.. especially the demos and
unreleased songs as well as the flops... they're all worthwhile and wonderful to hear.

My impression is that "All lives matter" is the riposte from the far right in response to "Black lives matter", i.e. the response from people who don't think black lives matter. Not that I'm suggesting JK sympathises with the far right, just that it's an unfortunate choice of words if he doesn't sympathise with them.

It seems to me that "Black lives matter" is a perfectly valid slogan, given the number of cases of unarmed blacks ending up dead at the hands of US police. Kneeling on George Floyd's neck had nothing to do with restraint and everything to do with domination that brings the attitudes of the slavery and segregation eras right into the present day. I think the issue of blacks coming off so badly in US society that they end up dead deserves full attention and shouldn't be diluted by other issues, however valid in their own right.

I have mixed emotions with police. I have had my problems. My partner worked for the police and Garda.

I can't see how kneeling on someone's throat is a restraint, he should of knelt on his back whilst but not the spine. Another thing is police have about 3 seconds to make a decision to fire or not fire. It's either you or the culprit.

My views are centre and I have friends from both sides of the political spectrum. My best friend is a far left democrat and but despises both Trump and Biden.

We have arguments about politics but we share lot's of common ground in other ways.

Regions in South Africa still has apartheid. You will expensive buildings and hotels overlooking slums with zero sanitation. Port Elizabeth is my favourite place in S.A and it's absolutely beautiful and I recommend that everyone should see it.

I don't get white privilege argument I have seen blacks being racist towards white. Again I have business partnerships and friends all colours, shapes sizes and LGBT.

I wish the media will call looters rioters and peaceful protester's - Protesters.

Looting Nike and assaulting people is doing nothing any favours. Truck driver's will be doing more to defend themselves they are not going to be the next Reginald Denny. Shop owners will be forming a militia.

Jo, you need to stop believing MSM news all the time and CNN is garbage like Sky News.

I say this If you give shit, you'll receive shit.

I'm sorry you feel that way Jo; I could be wrong but I watched the film and to me it was an example of police behaviour poisoning our society. I think the bent cop would have behaved that way whatever colour the man (or woman's) skin had been. But when you've seen identical behaviour kill three friends (watch GUILTY) I suppose one becomes tunnel vision. I'll bet Rolf Harris, seeing the footage, would feel as I did. Not racism: appalling police morality.

It's the Rodney King riots all over again.

I agree with this:

According to professor David Theo Goldberg, "All Lives Matter" reflects a view of "racial dismissal, ignoring, and denial".

...

President Barack Obama spoke to the debate between Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter. Obama said, "I think that the reason that the organizers used the phrase Black Lives Matter was not because they were suggesting that no one else's lives matter ... rather what they were suggesting was there is a specific problem that is happening in the African-American community that's not happening in other communities." He also said "that is a legitimate issue that we've got to address."

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Lives_Matter

"All lives matter" seems like deflection to me, watering the issue down so that "Black lives matter" is meaningless. Like a situation where someone loses their husband and instead of saying "sorry to hear about your husband" you say "lots of people have husbands who have died". Why would someone want to say that unless they really didn't care about the original issue?

I can only repeat; I don't think the original problem exists anymore (see today's video diary - Day72) whereas I do think the problem of police behaviour is totally avoided. I saw a bent cop kill a human being; a serious problem we MUST solve. I repeat; that cop would have killed a person whatever gender, skin colour or religion they had been, not concerned by sexual orientation, age or position. As long as they were big and he thought he could get away with it. I don't believe he intended to kill Floyd; it simply wasn't important to him whether he did or didn't; he was a police officer and life and death do not matter to many cops. Shocking, appalling. But pretending it was to do with skin colour is to miss the point. It would be like protesting the way Rolf Harris was treated was because he had a beard and people with beards are inferior.

Interesting Twitter feed. I can't believe I have to go to Twitter to hear the conservative side of things, that MSN don't show or report.

So all the people protesting in the USA are missing the point? You're claiming superior knowledge over people who've lived their whole lives being black in the USA and knowing other people in the same situation.

Not at all; they are protesting because media has told them this is an example of racism which rings a bell. If I was told it was an example of false allegations I'd join the march too.

I'm sure George Soros is also behind it.

If I was you Jo, watch some Amazing Lucas videos on YouTube.

When has MSM ever told the truth or not have an agenda.
