Cressida Dick. 3 Years, 10 Months ago
How does she have the cheek to warn people not to join in demonstrations because of the risk of coronavirus when a few weeks ago she was actually joining in with the overcrowded clapping?

CD is the first woman to hold her rank - and has shown courage and fortitude, over the past three years.

Highly experienced and straight talking - CD is an ideal leader of the Met, during this period of change and fluidity.

Our country would be better served if we had more people like her - manning our increasingly difficult front lines.

But we will always include the excellent - with the ubiquitous mediocrities - when making our daily criticisms.

I'm with you on this one Barney; I think Cressida is a good egg.

Barney, criticising one thing a person does is not a daily criticism, or condemning them in general.
Using Covid as a reason to stop people gathering is simply not on if you were standing in a crowd and clapping like a seal just a few weeks ago.

To suggest someone is 'like a seal' is less than apt, or helpful - particularly when that person is carrying out one of the country's key roles, in an exemplary manner.

Many aren't, and are much easier to confront. Patel (former assistant taking legal action); Hancock (poor covid decisions); Cummings (ignoring guidelines).

If - when acknowledging the critical work of NHS personnel - Ms Dick inadvertently and briefly breached distancing guidelines, most will be forgiving. In the belief that we're safe in our beds.

Hardly inadvertently, but perhaps the seal comment was uncalled for.

I seem to have missed whatever Matt Hancock did that made everyone so cross.
