Todays figures show deaths at 148 and cases at 820, more than double the deaths of last saturday (67), and 25% increase in cases (624). I'm pretty sure that this is related to the opening up of pubs and the complete lack of social distancing displayed on the news reports. Many people thought that it was ok to go with their mates as long as they didn't mix with strangers. Also the reports of food factories actually recruiting more people to keep up with demand and demanding that people with coronavirus symptoms continue to work.

I think it will be a good idea to make people wear masks in shops. It will remind people that this virus has not gone away and measures have been increased. The stopping of the weekly clap and daily briefings have left people thinking that this virus is virtually over, and the rates are going down much slower than in the rest of Europe. Young people in particular have no regard for social distancing on the whole. They are hanging around with their mates, like everything is normal and delaying the moment that social distancing can be abolished and theatres and concerts can go ahead and life can get back to "normal".

Of course the deaths will rise as we open up the economy, but not as many as if we kept it closed further.

There will probably be more deaths from poverty, obesity, indoor health hazards and emotional instability in the future.
