TOPIC: Covid19 vs Flu vs Colds

Covid19 vs Flu vs Colds 3 Years, 9 Months ago
I get really annoyed when news readers announce "deaths due to CoronaVirus" when what they mean is "deaths due to total global over reaction to CoronaVirus". This is essentially a trivial virus for the vast majority of those who catch it. Because the global media needed a great story it was inflated (in Wuhan) as a plague. Check out the deaths in 2 months (early 2018) in America from Flu - around 80,000. Current Covid deaths in 4 months - about 120K. It really worries me that people cannot see the truth because it enables governments to behave in ludicrous ways that cause far more deaths and destruction than any virus could wreak.

Interesting article.

I found so many unanswered questions or even considered questions like the Covid 19 in a number of cases has caused the deaths of medical staff and people who had good health, has the same ever happened in a flu year?.

But where are the comparisons in the media re yearly flu and those affected vs Covid 19. And comparisons of how flu spreads and at what rate. I did find some articles myself concerning flu. But no comparisons just some sort weak excuse for ignoring any comparisons in that Covid 19 is not the flu and not like the flu. Yet there really does appear a lot in common. How many confirmed cases are in your area!

A good source I initially overlooked for the spread of Covi d19 in the UK is the BBC daily update blog on the BBC news website headed

" How many confirmed cases are in your area".

Ignore the aspect of finding cases in your area (which initially I did not thus missed how useful the rest of the blog / news daily update is.) And you will find graphs with rolling weekly average of new cases and deaths. It does give a good overall perspective. The information crops up here and there on other sites. But this site has been regular for some time now and once you know the heading to look for it can be found daily.

I love the media; I've been a part of it for almost 60 years. And I know its faults - even more since social media reflected so many untrained, unthinking, irresponsible people. Everyone wants a good story. It gets clicks, ratings, circulation. The exaggeration of Covid19 was natural & obvious. Ditto the majority of punters falling for it, believing it. And governments reacting. And experts predicting doom and disaster unless extreme measures were taken. But the consequences and ramifications of it are appalling. Not seeing that the Emperor was naked was funny and trivial. But the consequences were probably ghastly.
