Even though I've no interest in either - it intrigues me why they seem to think that anyone is interested in their views.

One is an average/unacclaimed ex-TV actress; the other, the son of a senior member of the UK Royal family.

Yet they pontificate on everything and give advice on most things - whilst living abroad, and still being a burden on UK taxpayers.


Edward (our former King) and his wife - also American, divorced and ambitious - had similar philosophies.

Yet eventually became outcasts in Britain - whilst hobnobbing in Palm Springs, Manhattan and Paris.

It amused me that Meghan said she was too famous to go to baby groups when her mother-in-law managed it with no fuss at all.

It would be a quiet world Barney if those without authority or distinction never gave their views on anything; including no posts on here.

And I suppose some people are at least asking H&M their opinion...

But I am with you on the tax burden question. They quit the Royal Family.

Even in these days of Freedom of Information, it remains impossible to get any reasonable answer to that question.

From HMG, the Treasury or elsewhere - and the public had to rely on investigative journalists to tell us about Frogmore Cottage.


Often the reasons given relate to security - but, currently, the taxpayer has no idea what he's paying for.

Or who owns what - is it the Crown, the Queen, HMG or individual royal family members?
