TOPIC: Masks

Masks 3 Years, 9 Months ago
The madness goes on; now it's how to put one on or take one off. I've always said; the seeds of lunacy grow fast and nobody stops to look at the original mistake to rectify later developments.

The original mistake? Believing media hype that Covid19 is a global plague killing millions.
In fact it is a trivial virus for 99% of those who catch it.

Like Flu it is dangerous to a few. And, like Flu, precautions should be taken to protect and treat the vulnerable and to find a vaccine (which we eventually did for Flu).

Over reaction can cause far more problems than any virus.

The current one, for us gradually getting deafer through age, is inability to hear what someone with a mask is saying.
It just happened live on BBC Breakfast.

And because presenters are now booked on gender, not talent, nobody picked up on this obvious question.

What???

Yes, I didn't realise I was pretty deaf until I couldn't lip read.

I am desperately struggling with masks because it is causing horrible panic, which I am not normally affected by.
I do need to not catch this (and flu and colds) so I am soldiering on in a proper protective mask as much as I can, but I am not sure why everybody else has to suffer too, especially as most of the masks are worse than useless?

It’s interesting looking back at official responses to the SARS virus in 2003 when there was considerably less fear in the ethers. It seems even 17 years ago, there was a struggle to avoid getting sucked into the fear themselves.

An interesting 2-minute video on wearing masks by Bill Nye, who's apparently a "science communicator, television presenter and mechanical engineer".

Oh of course celebrities know best.

I remember him in the 90s on American TV, I ignored him then.
