......on packed train. Allegedly. Lord Justice Sir Stephen Richards is accused of exposing himself on a packed commuter train in South-West London. The two seperate incidents allegedly took place last year. The female victim says she was 'shocked' that a smart and presentable man had his genitals exposed, and at first presumed it was an 'accident'. An arresting officer said Richards said at the time 'It would be quite extraordinary for one to board a packed train with one's thingy hanging out.' The trial against the high profile judge is set to last two days.
and I thought that "Tits Out For The Lads" would be tomorrow's headline (refering to the claim by women to be allowed to breast-feed wherevber they want !)
Half of me hopes that he's innocent but gets convicted and discovers first hand the British inJustice System.
But I wouldn't wish it on anyone so better he's acquitted - I'm sure he's already discovered how lazy, corrupt and tunnel visioned the police and CPS are and he might go back a far wiser and better judge.
Of course he could be guilty in which case he needs a shrink, not prison.
I have no idea whether he's guilty or not, but have lost confidence in the British judicial system to such an extent that if he's found guilty, I will be convinced he's innocent and vice versa.
Irrational I know, but that's what all the appalling miscarriages of justice have done to me over the years.
Frightening thought, JK. If you're right, we could replace our legal system with a toss of the coin, which would at least produce 50% accuracy. An improvement on the status quo, and a significant reduction in public spending.
Seriously, is there any hope of the desperately needed changes to our legal system? Not in the foreseeable future, I fear.
