Britpop 3 Years, 6 Months ago
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-54238279

I didn't like Oasis or Blur. I don't know how anyone fell for Blair lies and propaganda. He used pop culture to fall the youths.

I never picked up Loaded magazine was it actually a decent magazine ?

I did play The Lightening Seeds album - Cloudcuckooland. Not heard it for a few years and sounded very refreshing.

The tracks; God Help Them and The Price songs are my favourites.

Everyone I have spoken to who saw Oasis either came home injured or witnessed fights and beer bottles thrown in people faces.

Neither of them did it for me preferred Pulp if had to plump for a Britpop band; more fun, catchier songs and smart lyrics.

I understood the appeal of Oasis though as the 80s hadn't exactly provided the rebellious spirit of punk!

I hated the whole "lad" culture/"Men Behaving Badly" cliches just made me wince in embarrassment for it...

So I don't feel massively wedded to my era!

Very interesting views. 1980's too me was the huge metal scene, I still listen to bits now.

I didn't get in to New Wave until about 7 years ago when I met my current partner, she was a New Romantic and kept most of her vinyl from the days. I felt embarrassed not knowing some of the "mega hits and artists"

I did listen to Paul Young a lot even throughout the 1990s; I still have No Parlez and The Secret of Association on both vinyl and CD. Which I still listen to.

I did like Super Furry Animals for a bit and Dodgy then kinda forget about them on my shelf then I probably gave the albums away without thinking.

I watched 'Men Behaving Badly' religiously and even taped every episode back then. I saw the box set in a charity cheap last year, I watched about 3 episodes from the later series's and gave up totally. I donated it again. Something's are better left in the past.

There's one album that stands out the most of the era is Crash Test Dummies - God Shuffled His Feet; however it's not Britpop.

Yes I still listen to bits of metal at times.

The 15 year old me was the menace of Southampton on Saturday afternoons, as I walked moodily between records stores and the parks dressed in my trademark denim jacket with "Maiden" and "Metallica" patches.

I thought I looked the biz, even as I vomited on the feet of the 16 year old rock Goddess I had hitherto been impressing with my ability to drink cheap cider, while smoking a cigarette out of one ear and toungue-clicking the opening riff of "She Sells Sanctuary"...

Ah, memories....

Yes but I preferred soft rock. My favourite band was AC/DC.

AC/DC were definitely on my jacket...

I did have an electric guitar at one point and imagined doing the Angus Young (via Chuck Berry) "duck walk" while fluently riffing, but alas never got very far...

You should listen to Eddie Trunk podcasts on YouTube. I remember him on rock radio stations in the 90s.

Hells bells I am thunderstruck! That is TNT; dynamite. You got the jack with that shot JK. It's a long way to the top in the biz, but if you want to rock 'n roll, shoot to thrill and never glance back on the highway to hell...

I remember him on VH1 on Friday nights. Tommy Vance was okay but he got on my nerves. Who actually remembers when MTV was actually MTV ?

Headbangers Ball was amazing to watch.
