Can anybody explain something obvious? 3 Years, 6 Months ago

Governments surely look at France - "second wave" for over 6 weeks now, virtually no deaths. Then they MUST understand that Covid19 is similar to Flu; different in that it is far more infectious and far less lethal; it has different effects (particularly "long tail") but has changed from the "first wave" when it clearly simply killed off many elderly, vulnerable - basically hastening their demise, as most infections would such as the common cold.
As a result, social rules MUST be different from lockdowns and trying to "control the spread". Protect and treat the vulnerable. Rates of infection will never be controlled in the long run.
Common sense says greater hygiene; care over direct contact with the elderly; lose weight if obese; stop smoking.

Also, you are forgetting that a lot of people are very thick and uncaring, so will not or can not take care, and that it is difficult to protect vulnerable people when so many of live with or care for younger people.
I am just so bloody sick of the whole thing. It is one bunch of nonsense after another.
