TOPIC: The next Pandemic?
#203237
The next Pandemic? 3 Years, 5 Months ago
Well, now stupid Covid19 is out of the window, where are we? I'll tell you. Culling. Just as humanity has been culling animals for decades (cows, chickens, badgers), now they have started Culling for Covid (minks). They have seen stupid gullibles obey media orders so when the next virus (like Ebola but far more infectious) arrives, those testing positive will be culled to prevent a pandemic. Children, grannies, anybody. "For the good of the majority". Hitler may yet become an idol. DOH!

No panic. They will all be culled before they reach me.

I have to say - to those who say "it could never happen", any society that sends infected Covid spreaders back from hospitals into insecure care homes is capable of doing anything. The concept of culling positive tested potential spreaders of a lethal disease is far from Wonderland or even The Looking Glass.

Well, it isn't very different to hanging or the electric chair.

And actually it makes sense; if the next Pandemic is like Ebola but as infectious as Covid19; some drastic action will be needed.

Dramatic sounding but correct I think in so far that the C19 situation has become like an ideological/religious movement. People become brain washed and monomaniacal and dangerous because any means begins to justify the end...

We are now seeing frustrating but essentially comical outcomes (like track and trace) but the scary thing is that the group think and mechanisms are in place to implement far darker "solutions".

They have to admit they got it all wrong to turn this back. I am hoping vaccines give them the "face saver" early next year.

If they don't take it we are in for a very bleak and nasty future...

I fear, wyot, you're only thinking of Covid19 and the repercussions of the media hype. The pandemic I'm talking about will be next year or the year after or even 2023. It will be met initially by scepticism (when everyone has realised how stupid the over reaction to Covid19 was). The boy who cried wolf. Then it will dawn (too late) that Covid2014 or whatever is far more lethal, far more serious.

Reverse ferret time. Real, justified panic. And in comes Culling For Covid.

The worst is yet to come. All down to the gullibles.

If people are stupid they are stupid, and it is not their fault.
Those taking advantage are to blame.

I see. We are thinking of 2 different dystopias.

Mine never gets to your point where everyone realises how stupid the C19 reaction has been. Surely that has been obvious to anyone with a brain cell for months now, but nothing changes....

In mine, we face an endless cycle of Gov interference as they continue to pretend they can protect us from anything new under the sun.

I think I might prefer to be wiped out in your dystopia because of "cry wolf" than face mine!

I'm not sure anymore, Wyot. Normally, I think most terrible things happen because of mistakes not malice, but can all these people really be that stupid for so long?

Stupid is probably the wrong word Honey. Unless some conspiracy is actually going on, it is more like self interest and pride I think. It would be career ending for them to admit they got it so badly out of proportion.

The madness will only get worse as the evidence becomes irrefutable that they did.

Hopefully the vaccine, even if it is just a placebo, will give them an excuse to stop the silliness.
