The hiding and intimidation on forums- Is it a sexual thing?
I cant make sense of it, and I am very wary of responding to new posters, just in case.

Yes we get very few Trolls these days; Spam filter removes most; those that get through are removed by me or other board keepers before making it into Forums. A few on the Tipsheet forum (mainly Spam) - due, I think, to that link going onto marketing lists in the 90s. URLs tell us who is whom - the very occasional Proxy URL not removed by filters often betray themselves (they scream PROXY). Unlike other public Forums, you're safe here.

A couple of E Mails asking why on earth, when they know nobody reads them, Spam keeps going on. The answer is, I think, Spam (and often Trolls) are automatically generated and there are no real people behind them so nobody knows they get deleted before anyone can read them.

The reason I asked about it is because someone told me he gets a sexual kick out of tormenting women on twitter.
And then when I thought about it, I realised that this fits in with an awful lot of what I see.
It would explain why some go to the bother even when it is unread.

I dot know why the automatic stuff isn't targeted more effectively though.

The things some men have been driven to during lockdown, since sex was made illegal this year!

Every time someone even slightly disagrees, I will imagine them doing something unspeakable beneath the desk.
