MPs are now asking the questions which they should have been since March, and demanding now to see data on the impact of continued restrictions on the economy and communities.

We are nearly a year into this; why are they only asking now? Their whole purpose - on the face of it - is to represent us. They have failed. The parliamentary system - democracy - has failed.

What in fact have MPs been doing all year?

The Gov has responded with a promise to provide the impact data of lockdowns and Tiers (same thing in all but name unless you are a gullible fool). So either they have none and need to get it (the breath-takingly negligent explanation), or are unwilling to release it today (David Icke la la land).

The longer this goes on the more conspiracy theories grow. I don't believe any of them. I simply think we are burdened with the worst Gov and most pathetic, untalented collection of MPs in modern history.

I will not fall into the lazy trap of adding "at a time of crisis" because there didn't even have to be one. And the only one we now have is entirely self-inflicted.

If MPs had done their jobs they could have protected us from what we really needed protecting from in March; their leaders panicking about their own careers in the face of media sensationalism.
