TOPIC: If I was a lorry driver
#204011
If I was a lorry driver 3 Years, 3 Months ago
based in Europe I'd refuse to drive in or out of the UK, no matter what stupid Brexit deal gets done. If I were a company in Europe or anywhere else, I'd stop trading with the UK. The Brexit message ("we still want you") is clearly understood as "even if we want you, we're incapable of controlling our borders". That wonderful slogan "Take back control" is really "we don't want anyone with different skin colour or religion or sexuality or poverty here, thank you". The UK has shown it prefers children to drown or die in trucks to paying an extra £1 in tax. For whatever reason the NHS is and has been totally useless with empty Nightingales as the PanicDemic spreads. Yet the stupid gullible clap them every Thursday. Really who in their right minds would want to be in Great Britain?

Sounds like any other European country JK.

Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia and Czech Republic are the major exceptions lovely people and hard-workers. ( Not forgetting their stats on Covid as well)

Slovenia in the Winter is beautiful and can look very magical then again so can Vermont.

Don't get me started on clap for carers, I clapped for about 3 seconds and thought it was silly and went back indoors and never bothered after. The NHS is just too big to be manageable and managers love to play politics, so it ends up being a political football.

Now people are going to ring bells on Christmas Eve what the heck is that going to achieve apart from noise pollution ?

I can't imagine we are a "go to destination" at the moment. I do wonder what all this will do to the international tourism trade in the next few years. I intend to work on Mrs Wyot on emigrating after Christmas, but she seems irrationally fond of her Surrey family.....

I'm with Mrs Wyot (not actually!) - I'm 76, too old to emigrate and I love London and the UK. Lived in my little house for nearly 60 years. I like the Brits and they (generally) like me. Also I have a lot more to do for the voiceless victims of the False Allegations Industry; since I was pushed out of the music industry, this is my new career and there's still a long way to go until I've sorted it.

To be fair I would miss London (handy to be near a direct train line and 30 mins away) a lot and there is little to no chance of me prevailing over the formidable Mrs Wyot at the moment!

I can understand why you wouldn't want to leave your house; it looks very pretty and interesting.

GM while I have no idea what you look like I can somehow picture you clearly on your doorstep, santa hat on, ringing a bell very slowly with the biggest scowl on your face: please tell me after Christmas that you did this.

Jk. You're talking bollocks as usual. Nothing to do with skin colour or racism and/or any of the other crap you lefty liberals keep spouting.

I don't hear you complaining about the Covid vaccine which we have been first to have before the rest of Europe and the world.

Brexit is the best thing that could have happened to our once great small island.

It's ok for you multi millionaires who don't live in the real world, try living in some of the ethnic shitholes of Birmingham,Leeds, Leicester etc etc, you'd soon change your time.

Wash your mouth out.

I own a deerstalker hat and if I find a bell in a charity shop I might do it just for you Wyot.

Have you taken the vaccine JK ?

He is seventy-six and bursting with health. Mr King will be right at the back of the queue.

How does Brexit stop immigration? There could well be more. All the ones we bring in on the points system, plus all the people who would have come before and are now forced to use unsafe dinghies.

JK can be called many names but a lefty liberal isn't one of them. His expressed views are those of a self serving right wing capitalist with no social conscious

I do think Carl is correct in identifying where the broad liberal commentary tends to come from, and the challenges facing people living in crowded impoverished communities.

There is a gap there that the Farages fill. And they have a point. But racism also grows there, which is anathema to the Liberal classes, so the twain never meet to even start a healthy dialogue.

But the social and economic challenges are due to many complex reasons and it is far too simplistic - as millions seem to - to see The European Union as the problem and Brexit the solution.

These people will be disappointed. Nothing that is bothering them will end up any different.

They have been sold an emotion; not a different future.

Yes in some ways I'm left wing and in others right wing; very hard for simplistics to understand.

I think the word is either nonpartisan or a centrist.

I can't remember when I last voted or actually read a manifesto properly.

Personally like many celebs I have come across tend to be champagne socialists; that even includes Kevin Maguire. James from LBC was a very vile c**t at school and still a very vile c**t now.

There is no real right or left now hasn't been since 1997 and before. All parties move around the same small middle ground. I no longer think it is worth doing anything other than not voting; this is the only action that might break the hegemony. The right wing has dissolved into international money markets/hedge funds, the left has stopped/lost on the economics and is now trying for utopia through "woke" cultural wars.
