Hopefully in the months and years ahead we will have data to show the deaths resulting from these restrictions.

And definitive information to show whether lockdowns have any effect on Covid deaths over and above common sense measures such as distancing and hand washing.

Then we are more likely to make intelligent decisions in the future.

But I suspect the answer to your question is "yes". Lockdowns have very long tails.

The misery and reality of the situations of millions of people is being kept from them through the furlough scheme. The health problems of many that have not been picked up are as yet unknown to them...

We are comparing "this" type of lockdown with no lockdown at all.
Maybe handled differently we could manage to stop people transmitting the virus AND keep people in jobs and have hospital treatment?

They left the borders open didn't they and allowed flights to carry on. It all could be retained outside of the British Isles if they cancelled all flights, luxury shipping and scaremongering. Track and trace the public should get a refund out off MP's pockets.

I'm buying box sets but I can't binge like some people can. I'm reading books but I go through them so quickly I'm now running out, I'm slowly running out of money also and can't get benefit help.

It's funny how there is so many new news online outlets now that have started since last year.

Yep and some countries have managed to keep very low death counts without lockdowns of any kind (Japan) so it is possible.

Whichever way you view our handling of this, we are among the very worst in the world for deaths WITH sustained lockdowns and with the worst economic forecast.
