TOPIC: The blame game

The blame game 3 Years, 3 Months ago
Having foolishly positioned itself as being capable of preventing deaths from an airborne virus, and as of course the virus continues to spread anyway, the blame game is shifting up a gear as the Gov prepares to blame us for the failures of its 3rd pointless lockdown.

"Bend the rules and people die" is on the latest tax payer funded ads rather than "fuck up track and trace and care homes (again) and people die."

Infections in care homes have trebled in a month despite Tier 4 and national lockdowns.

Surely these are some of the safest environments now? If not, why not?

Is the obvious question not: perhaps lockdown is not really achieving much because it is all far too late?

1.3k are dying every day with 4.5k going into hospital. Maybe the obvious question is how best this can be stopped. Apportioning blame is easy and does little to assist a dire and worsening situation. Is it too late to beat the virus; do you have any helpful suggestions?

Not in the silly self-serving way you have set the question up, no.

You assume lockdowns prevent C19 deaths in any significant fashion, and so try to close the debate before it can start. You continue to ignore all the evidence of lockdown deaths and won't - or can't - apply yourself to comparative analysis.

This is not uncommon at the moment, but the most reprehensible thing about your post is the suggestion we should not "apportion blame" to a Government that has presided over some of the worst death rates in the world, used lockdowns freely and ditheringly, blown 22 billion of our money on one of the least effective tracking systems in the world, and has created one of the worst economic outlooks for us as a result in the world.

If that is not worthy of "blame" what the fuck is...?

My reprehensible post didn't make an assumption, say that blame shouldn't be attributed (our government has been weak) or try to close or continue to do anything. Just that blaming is easy, and also unproductive and useless. Like your inability to suggest what might help stop the virus spreading and killing, exponentially.

I admit my inability to suggest what might help stop the virus spreading and killing. I am neither a scientist or a genius. In your words this makes me "unproductive and useless". So must then be humanity as a whole at the moment; except I take it you?

Because in case you hadn't noticed: lockdown isn't working.

The obvious thing here would be to invite you to elaborate on your "solution" to C19 . However, this would be futile, because I only need to turn on the BBC to learn what you would present as a solution, when it is no such thing at all.

If someone is sceptical of the effectiveness of lockdown they are able to be so even in the absence of an alternative to ameliorating C19 beyond common sense precautions such as distancing and handwashing.

It is not an "either or situation", unless viewed through the handicap of unintelligent eyes.

If you give a patient medicine that has disastrous side effects and doesn't cure the condition, it is sensible to stop giving the medicine; regardless of whether an alternative is available or not.

If you want to stop the virus spreading by limiting contact between people you can do it.

But you have to REALLY do it. Not pretend to do it, for ever and bloody ever.
