Navalny 3 Years, 3 Months ago
Isn't he a remarkable man? He has chosen prison and possibly being murdered on Putin's orders to freedom in exile. For the love of his country.

Compare and contrast to the self interested baby sulking in the White House, who talks about love of a country and patriotism endlessly, but has nothing but love for himself.

No patriot would put their country through what Trump is.

If only we had more Navalnys and less Trumps in this world.

I am looking forward to Wednesday.

I never trust a man that's always happy, positive but has a bee in his bonnet at the same time.

I don't think the media are telling us the full truth about Navalny only what they want us to hear. There's something they are not telling - I don't trust MSM news outlets especially those on UK TV. I want to hear both sides of the argument without any bias.

Wyot I really do like your views however your Trump Derangement Syndrome is laughable - Biden is not the next president it's Harris.

They Trump because he is not the establishment he exposed him.

I love how Brandon Tatum exposes the Democrats which the media ignore. Larry Elder should really be the next leader of the Republican Party leader.

I don't know much about the ins and outs of US politics GM.

You are right I am sure that I am biased against Trump because of how he is covered and comes across. When I lay into Trump this doesn't mean I am championing Biden/Harris. There is no link between my views on Trump and the Democrats.

I also don't disagree with JK's view that Trump has taken on the media and prevailed etc. He has I suppose. And yes he is a thorn in the side of the establishment as you say. I also don't think he is "evil" or "all bad". Hitler loved his dogs and was kind to his wife.

But in my view he is not and has never been fit for office. He is corrupt, a bully, openly nasty about women and minorities and on and on. He incited the recent violence. He does not pay tax. This stuff - however wordly wise and jaded we may be tempted to portray ourselves as at times - is important.

Now Biden may be just as bad under a smoother more civilized surface. I have no idea.

But I am still looking forward to Wednesday - "deranged" about Trump or not!

Wyot - I have heard women be just as vulgar towards men in the pubs or talk about cocks without wincing. It don't make it right but it's the wretched double standard again.

Give me an example of Trump being nasty towards minorities and being a bully ? The only bullies I see are from the lying MSM. Trump has had certain tax reliefs which most business or entrepreneurs get. I have had tax reliefs especilly when a club has failed it didn't make any profit only broke even, if there's no money there's nothing to tax ( Evening business courses will tell you this).

Also Dicky Branson has gotten away not paying for decades however the media worship him - his cleaners pay more tax than Dicky.

I am waiting for USA to crumble it be sad state of affairs, no freedom of speech has already gone with cancel culture.

I do recommend this book.

I think that there are double standards between men and women yes GM, but the difference is that he is POTUS.

I don't think it is helpful to women to have him - recorded as saying, not reported - something along the lines of when you are a star you can do what you want grab em by the pussy. I don't think it does much for world racial tensions to describe Mexicans as rapists or whole swathes of African countries as shitholes.

Yes the bloke down the pub will say it, but call me old fasioned as Dame Edna would say, I don't want to hear that shite from the POTUS.

I would rather they (and everyone else) said whatever they wanted and bugger offending people.
At least that way we know where we are, and who to avoid. (and vote out)

Here's just some of Trump's achievements during his one term. Unemployment reached 3.5%, the lowest in half a century. Jobless claims hit an almost 50 year low with more Americans employed than ever before: 160 million. Income rose in every US metro area for the first time in three decades. 7 million were lifted off food stamps and women's unemployment was the lowest in 70 years.

In the third quarter 0f 2020, the US economy grew by 33.1%, the most rapid GDP growth ever recorded. Unemployment fell to 6.7% in December from a pandemic peak of 14.7% in April. Household net worth rose $7.4 trillion in Q2 2020 to $112 trillion, an all time high. Business tax rate was reduced from 35% to 21% with the stock markets breaking all growth records.

It's important to know the facts, or most of them, before taking a media driven Trump view. To be unaware or disinterested in his unique achievements makes opinions on him both uninformed and biased.

My views on Trump have never been about his achievements on the stock market or in cutting tax or employment etc. I have never expressed an opinion about this.

But thanks for the pompous lecture...

Two other achievements are his management of the North Korean threat and of being talked out of a strike against Iran. I don’t think he is the extreme narcissistic sociopath that many, including his niece, make him out to be. Narcissistic sociopaths and master manipulators are incapable of questioning and listening to options, seeking counsel or asking anyone for advice.

Apologies for my pomposity. But it's simply impossible to judge a person if their achievements are ignored. Many highly successful individuals have been thoroughly boorish and undoubtedly Trump is flawed in ways.

I don't disagree and thanks for the apology.

All I have argued is that his flaws make him unsuitable for high office. We all have flaws, yes. He is not all bad I am sure. But the world will in my opinion be a better place on Weds in no longer having a POTUS with Trump's flaws.

His flaws are evidenced by my own eyes and ears and what he has directly said, as much as MSM.

I think you are striving to find a "black and white" narrative in me (that isn't present) against which to argue. If I ever met Trump I'd have a beer with him. Might even like him and find much to admire. I could do this and still hate his presidency and many of his views. We are none of us "one thing".

I'm still looking forward to Weds though, which I will enjoy with much schadenfreude - not an admirable emotion; but I am flawed.

possibly Mal Evan but he inherited a good economy from Obama and has driven it down since.

US debt has skyrocketed under Trump (which he said he would pay off)and he completely bungled a deadly pandemic which has caused chaos and ramped up unemployment.

The guy doesn't even know how the economy works and thinks if the Stock Market rises that's it !

When top corporations & billionaire backers want rid of him it's because he's a dud.

It's all over rover, the Trump era will be regarded as an abomination.

Correct Hedda. US debt was why Trump had to go, not his personality or rhetoric. It rose $4.54 trillion in the year to December 2020 at a rate of $12.43 billion a day. Unheard of, and unsustainable. (t = 1,000,000,000,000; b = 1,000,000,000). Abomination, no. The pandemic (badly handled; ignored initially) cost an enormous and unquantifiable amount, not all down to Trump.

I don't think the Obama economy was that good - all leaders has bungled the pandemic even BJ. China is to blame for Covid but the media and Biden pander China.

Let's face the facts China manipulated the election.

Just like that the Democrats now want walls, barricades and guards.
