Give it to the disabled, carers and those who work and families. When things get back to normal dad's should go back to work and support your family. You did the deed and you had your 2 hours of fun.
These days the mothers work too, Greenman, and get bullied if they dont.
It is SO much more expensive being in lockdown I cant imagine even twenty pounds is much of a help.

Why is it more expensive being in Lockdown Honey? Don't understand.
I'm saving a fortune on daily rail returns to London and bar and restaurant bills. I don't understand why this £20 is needed now, but not outside of lockdown?
If a family can survive on UC why has it been increased just because people are at home all the time? Isn't this country in enough needless panicdemic debt?
I am catering for people with complex dietary needs, so it is not possible to get everything from one supermarket. If I need two "minimum spend £40" deliveries from two different supermarkets, I am spending £80 when I might only need £30 worth of food.
If I need a new basic jumper, I cant get a four pounds charity shop jumper.
I have to send for one from Marks and Spencers (today) for £89 only to find that it is too short!
(What is it with jumpers this year? If I am 5"6, and shorter than most men, HOW is a blokes jumper barely past my middle? )
I am lucky that it is just very irritating for me, and we can afford it, but for people in the same situation on benefits, it would be impossible, so yes, they do need that twenty pounds. And more!

Hadn't thought about it that way Honey. I can see the problem now. Feel a bit of an arse going on about my reduced restaurant bills...

Other people can't budget well or use money other than food or bills. I find it staggering amount of junk food in people's trolleys. Yes I like chips (Which Irish person doesn't) only once a week. My partner and I can both exceptionally and on a budget. Doing a curry is easy and cheap as well with the extras on the side (why bother with a takeaway at a cost, they use the same ingredients )
I don't get why people buy frozen chips when it's better to do homemade in a deep fryer ?
Instead of doing spaghetti bolognaise do 2 pasta bakes - they can be stored in the freezer.
Frozen chips are often cheaper than the potatoes.
It is simple for people like us, Greenman, because we already know how to budget well and can cook anything, but most people dont.
I can’t fathom why some parents haven’t mastered basic or elegant cooking. I always found that buying a huge sack of spuds kept in the dark last longer. Peeling and chopping them in to chips is not hardship.
I learnt to cook from work, living alone, copying the chefs we hired, following my mother and my sisters when I was a kid and of course old fashioned practise.
I really wish I had learnt to cook properly especially as my Mum was a superb cook.
But I do love this : "I learnt to cook from work, living alone, copying the chefs we hired". Chefs we hired?

In my culture it is normal for small children to do their share of cooking, which these days would have them whisked to a place of safety and I also had enforced domestic science lessons at school, which no longer exist.
My mother had the time and patience to teach me how to cook. (In theory anyway. Her standard response when I said I didn't know how to do something was to say "Now's your chance to learn, work it out yourself" )
I was there all day with my children, and they are all fully competent, but I had time to make everything fresh, with some put aside in the freezer for the days I was out and couldn't be bothered.
Parents these days deserve a medal if they even manage to produce even a ready meal with good humour when they come home from work, in my opinion.

I think he means the chefs in the pubs he worked in, Hedda, not his own personal chef.
