TOPIC: Deaths
#205235
Deaths 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Add a few thousand for the last 5 weeks of 2020 and a brand new trivial virus can be seen to be lethal for the vulnerable few. Hardly a killer plague.

If the bottom line is number of deaths there is nothing going on....

Yes, but this is WITH the lockdowns and masks and distance. Without that, we get all the respiratory infections and deaths we normally have, PLUS coronavirus deaths.

The masks, and people being locked up have prevented more coughs, flu and colds than they have coronavirus.

So the restrictions have brought the deaths to a normal level, but by using a method that is unsustainable, and unacceptable.

I cant even begin to describe how annoyed and sick of it all I am.

544k died in the UK in 2020. 541k died in the UK in 2018. Last year was a normal year for deaths.

If the bottom line is deaths, yes nothing is going on.

2.25 million dead in what period of time? How many die in a normal year during the same time period? As for 100 million infections; I didn't mention infections.

It's a theory Honey but no more than that and not backed by evidence. Call me simple but if we are going to lock everyone indoors for months, ruining the economy and lives, I would expect to see death rates at a level that offers some justification for doing so.

Yes I get the sense that a lot of people are reaching breaking point with it now Honey.

I'm sure he or she will be posting about our brilliant British scientists, experts, NHS and government, not to mention our fantastic media.

dunno who Barney is but if you guys think 2.25m deaths in less than a year is 'nothing', you should join a home for the bewildered.

Well, not really a theory, just pointing out that you cant compare "with" lockdown figures to "without" lockdown figures.

I suspect that the non covid death rate will be higher already, because of the lockdown impact and might well go on for many years.

This means that if they keep up this method of equalizing deaths- more covid, less flu etc, it is doomed to fail, because most of the deaths specifically caused by lockdown have yet to happen.

Sorry Bluevelvet; Barney is an idiot who keeps bleating on with media acquired theories and figures under different names and who shares the same URL as you. The point is that millions die every year. Fact. That any new virus will cause - or perhaps contribute to - deaths. FACT. That, in the overall scheme of things, the Covid deaths are nothing or next to nothing. End of discussion.

didn't want a discussion about the 2.25m deaths which seem to be totally avoided and ignored on here. repeatedly typing the same one sided view doesn't make it correct.

Well quite. And let's not forget that any flu or pneumonia death has since this started been counted as a Covid death. These ways of dying have not gone away; they have been reclassified. They may have reduced because of measures, but how could we know...

How many people have had Covid and made full recoveries ?

What I have seen of Covid deaths is that most of the people were old or looked like they had bad lifestyles.

December 2019 I had all the symptoms and felt rotten. I slept, drank green tea and 6 weeks I felt better. Did I have Covid before it was mainstream and recovered ?

I think you DID have it GM. So did I in early March (incredible night sweats which Flu never gave me). None of us bothered to get tested. One thing though; I'm sure Long Tail Covid exists. You may be fine now (so am I) except little niggly things keep popping up. I think Covid, long after it's left, affects previously existing problems for the future.

So our bodies will carry on fighting with our natural defences those with good immune systems ? If so then our bodies are doing what they do best.

I just put it down to Winter flu JK, like I do every time I'm poorly however the one in December 2019 did knock for me 6. Again being stuck indoors for long periods of time can take it's toll on our bodies and minds.

It's funny how footballers can breath all each other in a penalty box but we have to wear a mask in a shop.

When I didn't realise it was you Barney I invited you to debate the context and composition of the 2.5 million deaths. Of course you didn't; just repeated that there had been 2.5 million deaths. Difference of opinion is not the problem; it is in fact very welcome here in my experience.
