Fake president and a fake stage.

If it was Trump in a fake White House the media will cause a fuss. Biden is a puppet !

Anyone is preferable to the divisive Orange Faced Comb Over Man Baby psychopath who just spent 4 years ripping US cohesiveness apart.

I'm of 2 minds: either the US "establishment" will ensure an ex-president is never charged with a crime or..they may want to bury the notion of another younger, smarter Fascist Trump ever coming along again.

Joe Biden is simply continuing US "socialist" policies that have enriched the country for decades since FDR showed the way and built the ginormous US Middle Class during the 40/50/60s as a result of his policies that injected $Trillions into the economy.

He needs to hurry up: China now has approx 775 million Middle Class..over half their population,,built on a mix of socialism and capitalism

Thanks for the laugh Hedda.

Pumping billions in the US economy (and others, including the UK) as part of the fight against covid - has benefited big business. Stock markets have hit all time highs in virtually every country during the past eighteen months, increasing the net worth of most investors. Although unlimited budgets will often solve the problem, their lack of aim and imprecise direction is a godsend to shrewd and liquid entrepreneurs.

This Let's Go Brandon stuff is very silly. That Biden doesn't appear to know it is hilarious code for Fuck Joe Biden is all to his credit and the only one who comes off looking like a tit to me is the presenter.

I would prefer my President to be too busy with grown up stuff to have picked this up.

I think Hedda makes the point on a thread elsewhere that people now just seem to want the apparant strength and certainty of lying sociopaths over decent statesmen who will admit uncertainty.

Let's Go Branden is just one small example of how Donald Trump further coarsened US society. Let's Go Trump...very well done.

How prescient of you to quote an expert.

I see it this way.. Joe Biden won an historic all time ginormous vote. Pretty clear the majority wanted to see the end of the grifter Trump.

At Biden's great age I can't see he's doing this for any other reason but a genuine desire to help his country.

Biden is extremely middle-of-the-road..he is in fact to the right of how Democrats were before ReAgan gradually shifted the Republicans to the right.

Biden's policies are little different to all former US presidents both Dem & Repub before Reagan (a puppet for the extreme right wing).

Trump has been a ghastly grifter his entire life telling lie after lie. The liar claimed his father "lent" him $1Million to make his fortune and he Paid him back within 5 years.

The truth we know of course is his father left him approx $300M and a property empire.

As every economist has claimed: if Trump had invested that #300M in safe and normal investments he would have been a mEGA-Billionaire by now.

Instead he has been bankrupt numerous times ..bankruptcies in which he profited but still rotten business decisions which also sent 1000s of small firms and contractors bust, 1000s employees unpaid.

He still owes me $3000 and my pal who arranged the work $40,000..when we had drinks with the 4 Trump employees at night and they relaxed..they all admitted they hated Trump's guts. They would say he lies daily but the lies often contradict themselves the very next day and almost did int he heads of those working for him.

The Trump Crime Family treated the White House as just another business enterprise.

Admittedly Trump got the second biggest vote of all time but..and it seems most experts agree..at least half of Trump voters who will always vote Repub are traditional Republican voters who vote for their own traditional reasons no matter who the candidate is.

The other one-third to one-half ..some 35-45 million Americans are hard core Trump rusted on fans who may possibly turn on any other republican candidate. They are complete weirdos as they come from a socio economic class he did nothing for (much like how the Republican Party has turned the Southern states from hard core Dixie Democrats , to vote against their own best interests.

The old Southern democrats were often corrupt but did actually help the Southern states..,presidents like LBJ a Southern president who finally passed many equal rights acts and passed into law numerous social welfare programs.

So at most..45 million Americans out of 332 million are hard core Trump acolytes (he's really a Cult Leader)

Will this adoration remain? Hard to tell. The pre-runner to all this was the Tea Party that held sway over the Republicans but has sunk without trace.

I still say the hard core Trump backers and mega billionaires who backed Trump (like the Waltons, Kochs and many others) must now be having second thoughts..and the rumblings are that they are.

The Republicans have become beholden to one man who will be 78 at the next election (older than Biden is now) and is wielding emotional blackmail. If Trump was 45/50 he might be a threat.

These are not stupid people..they see what happens in history when would-be potentates and dictators ( Trump is a natural and admits himself) become all powerful.

The mega-rich are just as subject to the whims of a Trump as the lowly. The mega rich are the real rulers and they don't like a being beholden to a jumped-up Trump.

They're probably now looking for the 50 year old Trump. The divisions he has caused can just as easily come back to bite them badly if he ruptures the Party.

How do they unshackle themselves from this limpet hanging on for dear life? (he's making so much money by doing so)

As the Nazi backers in Germany found, the Thysens etc, they too went down in flames, suicides etc when the real downfall came. As the Shah of Iran found when he fled and his wealthy backers who didn't get out in time, all disappeared. Every example of a would-be dictator has ended in tears for them & their backers (unless they first remove their chosen dictator which often happens)

What will happen with the millions of Trump voters if they don;t get their way? I think people forget how rusted on the hard-core George W. Bush fans were and the numerous idiot themes they came up with.."let's go Brandon" is just par for the course and will fade into obscurity pretty soon as al the Bush memes dis.

Well, you are very insightful on politics; I may not always agree with your conclusions, but you certainly know your stuff Hedda.

Yes success is relative from where you start from; and it is clear that in business Trump has been a serial failure all of his life.

I find your point about the mega rich & powerful who really run the show interesting. I hadn't really thought about future Trumps in this way. You have given me a glimmer of hope that as Trump was also a political failure on one term, his brand of philistine demagoguery (or rather the sheer excess of it...) may be frowned on in the future.

Here's hoping, anyway.

It's ok when they do it ? When Trump called Jim (Brain eater) Ascosta in the White House the media went bananas. Now the media are silent when Biden swears at a journo.

Biden has never had stutter, I remember him in the 1980's on US TV.

He never made sense even then.
